not a problem, that's definitetly the goal with this silverado maintenance playlist to save ya'll time or money and share what I learn (usually by doing it the hard way first) glad it went smoothly for you. Thanks for watching and taking the time to share your experience in the comments. Cheers
Great video, I have a 2008 2500hd diesel brought new. I changed the drivers side a few years ago, a bit of a nightmare. The original passenger side bulb just blew out after 260000km, not bad. I thought it would be a nightmare again. This video made it simple. Thanks.
Great job...quick and a lot easier than taking the grill and that big radiator cover off, and the bolts inside the wheel well. Well at least I hope I don't have to, and you covered both very well.
This was a big help. Changed both headlights in under 15 minutes. Chevy service told my wife she would have to leave her truck 4-6 hours, minimum. Thanks!
glad it was helpful, saving ya'll time and money is pretty much the goal for these videos so that's great to hear. Thanks for watching and taking the time to share your experience in the comments. Cheers
Thanks- I only watched parts of the video and it took about 6 minutes to replace both bulbs on my 09 Silverado 1500. Awesome thanks! You probably mentioned this in part of the video I skipped haha but give them a quick test b4 reassembling. One of my led bulbs didn’t work. I just needed to flip it 180. Thanks again!!!!
no problem, glad it was helpful for you. Someone recently wrecked into one of our silverado's so stay tuned for bumpers, grill, headlight, and trailer receiver install videos to come, and maybe some accessory light vids. thanks for watching and taking the time to leave such a nice comment. cheers
Out of all the videos showing how to perform this feat, your's was the one that I followed and was the best. I admit I did not drink a beer while using your method, but I did have a glass of bourbon afterwards, hehe...Thanks, Brother!!!
awesome, its definitely the goal of sharing what I learn about these trucks, is the hope that it will save someone, somewhere, some time and or money. So I really appreciate you watching, and taking the time to share your experience with this in the comments. Cheers
I have a 2009 Silverado I’m sitting here in the morning debating about that late then I watch your video seems easy when I finally get dressed I will hit you back and let you know how easy or hard it really was for me I have big hands have a great day enjoy your beers
You were spot on with your time estimate. I somehow finished two beers though... thanks you saved me a bunch of effort not having to get that grill off.
Glad to hear it was helpful for you and that you were able to enjoy a couple beers while getting it done. Thanks for watching and taking the time to share your experience in the comments. Cheers
Awesome Help! Im a first time mechanic (got tired of getting jipped so working on my vehicles myself lol) This easy vid was better than others Ive seen so thank you. Ive supbscribed for sure !😁
Your video is clear and easy to follow. Thankfully for owners of these model years it is much easier to do this. I had a 2010 Chevy Malibu and I paid $130 for the dealership to change my headlight bulb. When I looked it up it involved dropping the front bottom pan and messing with the airbag sensors! This scared me so I left it to the shop to do. My 2013 Silverado appears much easier to do. My question to you and others is this, is it wise to change both sides at the same time? Since both can fail at the same time at the end of its life!?
certainly wouldn't hurt to replace or upgrade both at once. And we are fortunate it is a very do-able job. Thank you for watching and taking the time to share your experience and leaving a thought provoking question in the comments. Cheers
I was worried it was gonna be hard to replace, because I live in Alaska and my garage is full of stuff, thank god it’s warm today @ 26 degrees. Thanks for the video it was very helpful…
This was very helpful, wished I could have found this video before I crammed my hand in to change the passenger side low beam bulb, although the truck I'm changing the bulb in, is a GMC Sierra 1500. Thank you for this, left a like in the up position.
I tell u what, I was nervous. I followed your steps on the passenger side and it worked. Thank u so much. U got my vote. If I wanted to put LED lights , can u help instruct again ? Again thank u.
awesome, glad it was helpful for you. And yes that's a great idea for a vid. We will probably do a headlight upgrade vid after I've tested some of my favorites on both of our trucks. Thanks for watching and taking the time to share your experience and leave a good vid suggestion in the comments. Cheers
Finally, thanks for showing the driver side, but seeing how easy it is, I can see why there isn't a lot of driver side bulb replacement videos, mostly passenger side ones.
no problem and it is really simple, especially on the gas truck. I always try and make the videos as helpful and comprehensive as possible so I'm glad you appreciated that. Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment. Cheers
glad you were able to avoid that, hopefully everything went smoothly for you. Appreciate you watching and taking the time to share your experience in the comments. Cheers
Unfortunately my truck is a plow truck so the battery screws are so rusty it would've been more time consuming removing the spare battery. However, I found that just removing the shroud and the bolts holding in the housing along with just removing the top bolts of the grill, gave me enough wiggle room to replace the bulb without taking the entire grill off.
Just caught this because I gotta change my first bulbs on my ‘08. Changed many halogens, but never thought of wearing rubber gloves. Was always careful not to touch them.
nice, I'm not scientiest so who knows if rubber gloves are totally safe for bulbs, but I figure its better than my greasy hands. Appreciate you watching and taking the time to share your experience in the comments. Cheers
Going to give her a try tonight BOTH my low beams went out the passenger side last night the driver side pulling out of the driveway this morning drove in today using my fog lights 🤷♂️
haha, let us know how it goes, and I guess you gotta do what you gotta do, but that's bad luck to have them both go out. Hope the video helps it goes smoothly. Cheers
Great video. The only thing I would have done differently is use the little pocket screwdriver for those clips. I have known guys break the clips with a big screwdriver. It happened to me once while on vacation ( and didn't have my pocket one) . The screwdriver I did use was a 6". But you can get a lot of leverage, and those clips ( like we do) get weaker as they age. Hope this helps . Those little screwdrivers can do a million things,so don't discount them. Sometimes bigger is NOT better😂😂😂😂😂.
On the driver side replacment, if you can't slide your hand to make that turn because you cant fit your hand in there, like I. Instead of taking that panel off and taking the housing out. You can take the battery plate out (right behind the washer fluid container) remove those 9 10mm bolts out, pull the washer fluid container back. You have room to replace that bulb without taking that grill out.
awesome, thank you for taking the time to share an alternative method, probably a better alternative to pulling the grill. Thanks for watching and taking the time to share this information with everyone. Cheers
Thanks for the information, now I know why I prefer my 79 chevy to my 13 Silverado. I'd like to meet the designer who thought this would be a good idea. What an idiot. But thanks again, hopefully I don't lose my mind now changing a simple headlight bulb.
glad it was helpful, there usually not to terrible. Hope it goes smooth for you and I appreciate you watching and taking the time to leave a comment. Cheers
Dude I really wish you had included in this video how to take that air box out. Because that's the one part I'm having the most trouble with right now. Are there any other videos on here that will show you how to do that?
dude good news, I did. Unless its different in your truck. I start removing it around 3:30 in the video and really show it good starting at 4:02 I thought? Let me know if that part helps and if not what more specifically is giving you an issue, Sorry for the confusion, but like I said let me know if it's still giving you an issue after disconnecting MAF and fully loosening the hose clamp. Mine just popped right out once it was disconnected from the air intake tube. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment with a more specific question. Cheers
only accurate way to measure job time for Saturday truck maintenance in my book. Appreciate you watching and taking the time to leave a comment. Cheers
My airbox is mounted with some hardware and I gotta go through the bottom to get to it. Gonna have to pick me up some sockets that will reach. I got one side done though!
I'm glad you shared this info in the comments. I wonder if my airbox is just missing some hardware or if they vary by year? hmmm interesting the gas truck in the video is a 2008 2500, which year and model is the truck your working on? thanks for watching and taking the time to share this info in the comments. Cheers
Miigwetch for this info..I got the diesel so it's a bit of a mission to switch the bulbs..I did subscribe based off of this video being very helpful..be well..
now that's a great question, I honestly forgot to even check. I know you can get good access to everything with the housing out. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8JZsQsT7768.html Hope this helps and thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a really good question in the comments. Cheers
thanks and some little paws will definitely come in handy for this one, and good luck to ya'll on the job. Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment. Cheers
appreciate it, her name is Joy and I won't tell her you said so or it'll go to her head. haha appreciate you watching and taking the time to leave a nice comment. Cheers
thanks try to keep them as short, but thorough as I can, glad it was helpful for you. Thank you for watching and taking the time to leave a comment. Cheers
Escape PowerSports of course definitely gonna keep an eye out on your channel. my headlight came back on haha so I don’t gotta worry about it right away now but. I’ll probably replace it if it keeps going off the back on.
hope someone reads this and knows all you have to do is pull up on the airbox and move it enough to get your hand down there...then you wont need to losen anything or take anything apart.
great advice, I'm upgrading my low and high beams this weekend so I'll have to give it a shot also. Thanks for watching and taking the time to share a great tip in the comments. Cheers
@@EscapePowerSports only thing that was worth a mention is that your check engine light will come on for about a day due to unplugging the sensor. Maybe add that to description?
It could be a problem I only have Budweiser. So do I need to compensate with 2 or more Budweisers and Are Bottles calibrated the same as cans?? Maybe I should drink 3 just be sure, well make that 5 cuz i drank 3 while watching this video...well I did flip over to see Suzy and Suzy's Place So maybe I need to run to the store and get more budweiser well It's get late now, I'll just finish off the last of this 12 pack and get an early start in the morning.
@@EscapePowerSports Merry Christmas to you and I hope 2021 is a better year for you. It took me about a total of 20 minutes to change the bulbs in my 2011. You have to physically manhandle the Air filter container, but it does just pop right off. I will be putting the air cleaner back on once I get it off the roof of the house. I'll probably need a beer or 2 for that too. Thanks.
@5:22 - when do we get the behind the scenes cut or shot of the snake's demise? Really thanks for the video you saved me several hours and prevented me from inventing new swear words.
haha I try to keep all the gorey stuff that goes on around here off the public record. I appreciate the kind words, you watching the video, and taking the time to leave a funny comment. Cheers
I just updated links in description looks like low beams are h11 and high beams are 9005 Hope this helps and thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a good question in the comments. Cheers
hmm interesting. If it stays in there good I'm all for it, whatever works. Thanks for watching and taking the time to share your experience and a tip on how you were able to get it done. Cheers
sometimes it goes smoothly and occasionally a frustration beer or two might be required. Let us know how it goes and good luck. Appreciate you watching and taking the time to leave a comment. Cheers
hmmmm not really sure don't really drive fords, I'm sure its a similar process of getting access to the back of the headlight and removing the bulb. Good luck and let us know how it goes. Cheers
