@@austine4784 yeah and in the video where he bought it he showed that some of them are cracked, but I had this style on my 08 1500 and I really liked them, I think these look cleaner than the ones that go above the window

Being from Michigan, I'm blown away every single time you find a diamond gmt800. I've had my 2005 Silverado (226k miles) for nearly 20 years now. The rocker panels, fenders, and cab corners have that bluetooth connectivity 😅

Not a chevy guy, but this is a real nice truck and if it were me id keep it stock as a rock. This is when Chevys were good in my opinion, they dont make anything i like today unfortunately so to see nice older pickups like this puts a smile on my face
Keep the rain guards, they look good and they’re practical. And if you ever have your window pop off track, you can force it up to almost closed and not have to worry about it leaking. Speaking from experience here, definitely was a life saver
Banks is an awesome intake. I’d suggest ordering the cover for the filter. I ordered the dry filter with the filter cover and the scoop and the scoop makes a major difference in intake temps. My intake temps are roughly 2 degrees above ambient when rolling. It woke the truck up, I also have the banks six gun tuner.
I bought my LBZ new in late 2006 and have been able to change fuel filter from the top every time. A little tip for you, after replacing fuel filter start your truck, when it stalls just crack the purge screw then pump until fuel comes out, close screw and pump the primer until it won't depress any more. Start the truck and you are good to go. I actually put a valve on mine to make it less messy. Then I added a lift pump and can forgo the bleeding process altogether. If your truck is 4wd you'll want to add the BRNY plate to your transfer case pump so you don't end up with the pump rub pin hole. I also added the filtration systems bypass oil filter as well to filter the oil better. There's a lot you can do to these but I would start with the mods that extend the life of the truck. Also, they came with a shallow transmission pan, I would replace it with the standard,or what most call the deep pan from allison.
wow that truck was finished 5 days after i was born. for a 16 almost 17 year old truck its in really really good shape! good on the previous owner for taking such care of it.
@@sugmaball5383Right, 100,000 miles on these trucks with today's technology in engine life in comparison to the 1970's 100,000 =45,000 of today's miles I'm 65 retired with a old 2003 4X4 long bed 140,000 now, since I just drove it from New Jersey to California 2024. Yes things do break however, you own that beautiful RED truck with no monthly payments, now we can go to home Depot and get things without having to strap it down on your hood why do people go to home Depot in these nagging little cars anyway that always get in my way makes me want to run them over getting in the front of me as we both stop at the same traffic light drives me crazy.

I couldn’t agree more with ya chase about the sunroof design how it opens, I’ve always loved that look. I’ve even thought about putting a aftermarket in my 2020 trailboss 6.2 but it would cost too much to re design the current one lol. Awesome truck man!
Btw, you can cut a little square space out in your fender for servicing the fuel filter, and cut two little small holes for some hard to see zip ties, once you’re done with it then put two new zip ties back in. Also you don’t have to take the plastic screw all the way out. Just open it one turn and pump until you see fuel
I have an 05 duramax (same specs without a sun roof) and personally I love my rain guards… I don’t care for the look too much, but I use the function all the time, it keeps bugs from being sucked in the window while I’m driving and it’s good at keeping rain out even with the window all the way down.
Aren't there drain tubes for the sunroof that go down the A and B pillars? It's pretty common for those to get clogged and cause water to puddle up inside the roof and leak onto the headliner. Might want to look that up and try cleaning them out.
I absolutely love the rain guards, I’m a big fan of the truck! I always do vinyl between the windows especially with the tint makes them look aggressive
just got a 1994 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9L blacked out rhino lined with some 22' black rims , red calipers, also just ordered a cherry bomb extreme and some magna flow high flow cats can't wait to install it so hyped to hear it roar
I have a 2009 GMC that I bought in 2014. I changed out a bulb on the tail light and that whole pocket was full of dirt. Your tail light pocket area was covered but on the newer trucks it is open to what ever the tires throw up there. I bought a set of aftermarket rear wheel well liners and put mudflap material in the opening of the pocket. I live in Upstate NY and that would be a perfect spot for the salt to eat up that area. The truck only had 17,000 miles on it when I bought it.
Your truck looks great. I have seen a bunch of older trucks with good paint and body and that clean up real nice, but with clouded out headlights! I know they aren't cheap. Just go with OEM if you must , but it will really makes a difference!
I’ve always wanted a carbon fiber wheel on my truck, so expensive but they have suede and everything looks so nice, if money is no issue I’d check into them for the duramax it would look sweet with the interior
I’m so envious dude. I have a victory red LBZ too and my hood paint is coming up but yours look so good. I live down a dirt road so it’s hard to keep clean but man that thing looks and sounds so good.
What motor? But still you got one of the best year chevys, keep it forever. I believe its the 3rd gen, from 07 to 13. All first 3 gens are the best but 1st and 3rd are the best
I love the truck you purchases. Rain guards look good as I use them a lot my self and also use the sun visor. I wouldn’t go without either of them. In channel visor look better then the one that mount to vehicle 😀
Hell yeah man great looking rig! Maintenance first always best practice. I can't wait to see this thing paint matched up. Some 22" chrome forces maybe?
whats the best way to find a really good used truck and what would I want to look out for? Never had a truck before but need something good in snow as where I live it is winter 5-6 months a year
I am super happy for this series! I just found you, I got about 2 or so weeks until I get my Colorado, im 16 and im paying it off for my grandma, I was talking to my grandpa about it before he passed, its a super nice truck and he was planning on selling it for cheap anyways. Its an 06, but I have been lost on what i should be doing, its got 100k miles so ill have it for a while and I plan on putting my heart into it.
I'm a big fan of the rain guards. Prefer the ones that stick on the outside of the door rather than in channel just my opinion. Looks great either way.
I soak my air filters in hot water and dish soap. Then rinse it . Seems to clean it the best . To speed up the drying process I put a hair dryer in the filter and leave it for 10-15 minutes. I also work for Cummins and it’s best you install the fuel filter dry so you aren’t filling your new filter with contaminated diesel.
My 02 2500 HD 6.0 Has 425,000 miles. I do my own work and put brakes on all 4 . Calipers pads rotors hydro boost power steering pump rebuild entire front end new tires and i added coil overload springs on the rear. Without getting into the engine it gets regular oil changes and runs like new I put a visor and roof racks modified the tailgate to receive a 1/5 wheel or goose neck. For cun i put an altimeter on the dash and a rain guage on the front bumper . My brush guard has a hndyman jack a comealong log chain double bit ax and a buck saw. magnet to hold a couple Tools its paited camouflage with bedliner paint.
Finally a good reason to watch this channel, you got a diesel baby, I was starting to think you played for the other team cause all your other trucks are gas suckers, can’t wait for all the content on this truck
Great truck. We've had 4 2005-2006 cat eyes. Get the transfer case checked. There's a part inside of it that vibrates a hole in the case causing a small leak. We had to replace to cases at the same time.
The aluminum stock wheels on those years look so good I just wish they were bigger than 16’s. I put the newer style 5 spoke ltz 2500 wheels on my truck but every time I see a gmt800 with some clean polished aluminum stocks I question myself
My '10 1500 Sierra came with 20" aluminum wheels. They are called " touring wheels". I personally don't like them being that I live in upstate New York. The bead area on the wheels oxidizes and creates a very small leaks.
Can you please make sure to make a video when you replace the sunroof gasket. My trucks sunroof is leaking bad and I need to replace the seal but can't find any videos on YT. Love your content and the new truck. Can't wait for more videos on her.
4 years for me and mine, too. Absolutely amazing truck! Took 2 years for me to refurbish the frame and body, worth all the hard arse work. I don't think I could give it up for a very long time.
I really like that body style and the front end! Looks good. Your truck has a really cool stance with those wheels. Looks tough! One note on the sunroof... that gasket is designed to let water through (a little)... if it's leaking, make sure the drains are open and clean! A lot of times the drain tubes get clogged and then you get water inside the truck. Question for you... I live in the upper mid-west and these are mostly gone due to rust. Where do you live? Will you Fluid Film it to preserve it more? We use Fluid film around here and it works really well!
When I bought my 2010 in September, I’ll literally changed the oil check everything else out change the fuel filter transmission filter and I also change the air filter right now I change upper and lower ball joints and I think I might have to change the U joints
technically you dont have to bleed off for the fuel filter change everyone in my area just hits a few pumps till its stiff then rev it to 1500 for 10-20 seconds just in case (the theory is to "run thru" any problems") no idea why, its no easier just what everyone i know does that works also. imo the cateyes need rainguards and a bugshield on the hood
