Having the engine at a angle like that probably stresses the transmission mount. Loosening the mount bolts is a good idea.

I have a 1996 Ford Aerostar XLT with the 3.0 engine. It's not a full frame van but unitized structure. I wonder if this job would be the same level of difficulty.

Gonna try this, its pretty much the same setup in the 3rd generation as far as the oil pan goes.

There are two different oil pickup screens on those oil pumps. The black screens are a tight mesh screen there is a pickup screen that is a little bit more open not as tightly woven which let's the oil flow better and you get better oil pressure almost 10 pounds difference in pressure. If everything else is good ? The black pickup tubes are so tightly woven that it acts like a filter and gets blocked up and the screen should be cleaned at every oil change wit a little wire brush through the oil drain plug. Anyway good luck to you all lol.

I have a 2004 ranger w/ a 4.0L v6 SOHC. I have this exact oil pan model installed but everywhere I look it says I need the smaller thinner one. Any guidance?

What is the torque you use on the oil pan screws?

I may have installed the bolts incorrectly my set has 16 total and 2 of them are longer than the rest. is there a diagram on the bolt placement for the pan? any tips anyone? please

how come the pan wont come forward? i have a auto trans model 4x2 3.0
