Great video. Just a word of caution. I tried to torque the window bolts to the 8ft/lbs and the window shattered. Maybe I didn't have it seated all the way or something but the 8 lbs felt pretty tight. Bought a new window and just snugged them up to what felt OK and all is good now. Thanks again!
good vid, my 2009 required going beyond the magnet and using a hooked wire to grab the screws to back them into the second set of threads or they were still in the way of the glass sliding out.
good video glass retaining bolts were different however on the 2009 mini i worked on in that both sides of the glass clevis are threaded and the bolts only threaded on the tip so you think the bolts loose but you then have to thread it through the other half of the clevis
This was very helpful, except for the skip at 3:52. The bolts need to be backed out even further once you pull them with the magnet. I fiddled with them far too long before figuring it out.
when reinstalling how do you get the inter handle cable to reconnect correctly. when I get thè cable to snap closed. The handle on the inside handle. pushes it open, and won't work!
Hi, I followed your steps, thank you, now I put everything back but when I press the toggle to close the window it goes all the way up and comes down half way, I don't know how to fix it any ideas ? Thanks
You need to reinitialize the window motor. Do that by (with the door closed) pressing the window switch down and once the window reaches the bottom, hold the switch down for a couple more seconds. Repeat the steps for he up position. Holding at the top for a couple of seconds. Window should now go up and down normally, and should "cinch" properly as well on door open.
