Thank you for this video. I changed out the passenger side actuator on my 2007 silverado single cab following these directions. It wasn't exactly like my trucks setup, but all the parts were there minus one metal rod(it had a cable instead). Everything went smoothly and now I don't have that "passenger door open" notification anymore

Wow what wonderful instructions for this part! Based on my basic handymanskillset I can take on most projects but knowing where to start and what to avoid is the key to success the first time and A-1 Auto part videos do this for us for free. Even if their parts are a little bit more I always go with A-1 Auto parts.

*Tip* The yellow clip on the actuator that holds the manual lock vertical bar: the new clip was so hard to open/close that I broke it when trying to reinstall. You may want to check it before you reinstall and if it is difficult, replace it with the yellow clip from the old actuator. Other than that everything worked great. Awesome video and awesome replacement part!

Thank you so much , I was trying to get the latch off , couldn't figure out how to get the last two metal wire arms , now I realize I got to remove outside handle first , I was trying to do it without doing that , couldn't get it ..lol

I have a 2012 Chevy Tahoe that I recently replaced the passenger panel. The window rolls up and down but my mirror won’t turn and the door won’t lock. Am I missing something?

I m trying to order this part but when I took off my actuator it has more prongs coming out of the plug. Yours only shows 5 and I believe mine has 7. What are the other two suppose to control and are they important.

My Avalanche had a dent in the door I bought a door from U Pull it and the one I bought the actuator was missing. 😮 So I had to take mine off my door.😢. Thanks I started at 9am and was done at 10:30😅😅. I saved 300.00 from watching your content. 😁

Question.. the other day I put my key in the drivers door to unlock it , the key just turned inside the lock and won’t open, have no clue on my 2014 GMC Serria. Would it be the lock actuator needing replaced. Not a mechanic.

the red piece were can i find that part? deosnt seem to come with door handles i see online pretty sure mine broke that rod is just dangleing havnt taken the door handle off to confirm yet tho

2003 Suburban threaded door lock rod clip replaced. I noticed the rod on the manual key lock is just dangling. I can't find a clear discription where it connects on to lock actuator. 😫 I'm stumped without pulling lock actuator back out. Any clues will be helpful. As I'm now able to open door with outside handle now obviously.

Great video it helped me change 3 door lock actuators that were bad.

I have a 07’ Colorado. The driver door stop locking/unlocking with key fob but the other three doors still respond. I can’t even lock the driver door with key or by manually pushing latch on inside of door. Would this be a bad or broken actuator?

What if neither of the latches (inside or outside) will open the door? How do I get the panel off to open the door so I can work on the broken latches?

I replaced the door latch cable in my front passenger side door after the little ball at the end had broken off. after replacing the cable my door will still not open from the inside but will still open from the outside. when i reach into the door i can feel the lock moving on the inside of the door when the handle is pulled. would the actuator be what is causing this?.
