Petroleum jelly as is the jelly thats made from petroleum as in the stuff that disolves rubber?

Such a great video, please tell me what is the oil that leaks from a bad seal similar to that replacement video? Is it differential oil or transmission fluid?

I installed both seals and this passenger side leaked after after 4 months because the inner seal moved out a little bit just like yours did. Is that the only seal out there or there's a different type a better one?
