thanks for the video! my parents own a mini golf course but don't know how to regrip ( our usual person who regripped them for us passed away) so our golf clubs were in a REALLY sad state (think tape holding the handles on). Seeing this video made me realize how easy it actually was. I bought the supplies on amazon and followed your instructions and in no time I had a dozen beautifully regripped clubs! Thanks for teaching me a new skill!

Thanks for the video. Two questions - (1) How long should you wait before testing the club, and (2) any tips on aligning the grip with the club face?

+therayagenda Ideally, it would be safest to let them dry overnight before using them to play. You can visually align them but do so quickly before the glue dries (while the club is still in the vise).

+Be Your Own Handyman @ Home Thanks! Re-gripped my 7-iron this weekend (without a vise) and it worked out well.

good job, for a moment I thought you didn't have the tape wet enough but all went well.

Do you really use an "exacto" knife to take off "the old you know what"? Yikes!!!!

just cut a nerve in my hand trying to change grip you used the wrong tool to get grips of and if you watch video again you nearly slipped you have to get a hooked blade that is so much safer and its what golf shops use hope this helped
@BeYourOwnHandymanHome
@BeYourOwnHandymanHome 8 лет назад
+Brian Reilly Sorry to hear that Brian...a reminder to everyone: keep body parts out of the way from the blade. No, I did not come even close to injuring myself because it's common sense to keep hands/fingers out of the way. Even if it did slip, I wouldn't have cut myself because of the way I was gripping the knife. Thank you for providing another alternative by using a hooked knife. Probably would be safer for people not used to using sharp tools. Some places use hooked, some don't. Hope you're healing well.

@@BeYourOwnHandymanHome There's safer ways to strip a golf grip. You say you never came close to injury. That's your opinion, but the blade wasn't in control as it slipped from the shaft. Also, you should mark down the shaft beforehand for alignment. This is shabby at best.

This is dangerous. Maybe you can redo it? Or take it down before somebody hurts themself

lame comment. Xactos are as dangerous or as safe as the person handling it.
