Low beam bulbs are H7s. High beam bulbs are 9005s.

It was great EXCEPT.....the high beam bulb is the one you changed first and the low beam was the 2nd bulb changed w/ the grey cap! Extra $30 at autozone, but now I have 2 new bulbs! 😂

Thank you... In the 2004 Outback Legacy... Both bulbs are under the tan cap... But the rest is exactly the same to change it out.

Need to get original model. I know they may look alike but I have one original one on my 13 year old OB that is still clear( glass is coated) and works great. The one that was installed 6 years ago needs to go..burns out bulbs almost immediately is super crusted foggy and never matched color or look. I’m glad I at least had one good one to know what to look for

Bro how do you swpa the bulb my old one wont come off, yours looks like a whole new harness with the new one it has those 2 big prongs on it in the new but not the old

These have projector lenses which means you can put LED low beans in there and it makes big difference.

In Sweden it isn't legal to put LEDs in, otherwise I would have. I have LEDs in the high beam since there I'm sure I won't blind meeting traffic. It got me thinking tho, are the quality LEDs of today so precise for the low beam they don't blind meeting traffic? The first ones that came out and the recent Chinesium ones were/are so crappy manufactured thet throw light everywhere (except where it should go 😁)

I got Osram Nightbreaker 200 in my low beam, they are much better than standard, and they are (E)-marked so they are legal to use in Sweden. But as I mentioned in my other reply, maybe the newer quality LEDs are even better without disturbing others?

at 3:20 does anyone know what the metal connector would be called and where i could order a new one? when i tried to pull the bulb out i found that my bulb had melted and i took the outer metal ring w/ the metal spring out with it.

My 2006 outback bulbs housings look nothing like this. I have big Cup seals behind my bulbs and a spring retainer holding the bulb in.

I think you accidentally said high beam bulb on the second bulb when actually you first did the high beam, then the low beam.

Is it just me, or do basically all car components seem embarrassingly janky? Everything under the hood and elsewhere seems just cheap and disgusting. You have to tear stuff apart just to replace a bulb?!? The bulb is probably designed to fail, too.
