The inner tie rod has a ball joint that can wear over time, causing a clunking noise, loose steering, and eventually, other problems with the wheel and suspension components. It’s a good idea to replace your inner tie rods as soon as you notice any of these symptoms. This video shows you how to replace the inner tie rods on your 2000-2006 Chevy Tahoe.

I have a 2993 Tahoe and I ordered replacement inner and outer tie rods. It's a simple job and relatively inexpensive. Although I didn't have a wrench big enough to get the inners off. I tried using some channel locks but couldn't get enough torque to free them up. So I went ahead and just swapped the outers until next weekend. I also did a disc brake conversion to 2007-up Tahoe disc brakes. Everything bolts right up and you get bigger brakes which the heavy Tahoe desperately needs. Just get the calipers and brackets from your local scrap yard, then get the rotors and pads new. Cheap and effective upgrade.

I have an 04 with a leveling kit and I couldn't get the new inner tie rods threaded in. Would my sway bar need to be loosened?

Hello. What is that bent structural component above the tie rod at the 2:23 minute mark? That component on my truck is completely rotted and I would like to replace it. Have the same rust on that component on both sides of the front. thanks

Why did you grease the inner and not the outer? Does the inner not come pre greased? (And after i do mine will the alignment be off so much that it's bad to drive highway?until getting an alignment of course..)
