Went to start my bike one time and heard a terrible clunking sound, I knew it was from the starter jackshaft so after taking the primary cover off this is what I had to do.
This is my first semi instructional video on fixing harleys, been meaning to make some like this for a while but never got around to it.
When the jackshaft broke being over 1000 miles away from my town where my dad has a mc harley only shop I decided to tackle this project right where I was at rather then trucking all the way home to the snow.
At first I anticipated having to take off the whole clutch basket to get the shaft out so I bought the extra tools like big sockets and an impact driver to get the job done but luckily I didnt end up needing it!
Not sure about older fxr's but I crossed the part number with a 94 FXR and 99 Dyna and its the same part number.
This bike is a 1999 FXR2 with buell front end and rear wheel.
Hope you enjoy and this helps someone out there!
I have a few videos on my instagram of the day before I did the whole job and made this video so feel free to check that out too, also have a bunch of other bikes you might find pics or videos of along the way.
