How to replace Metal Shed Door Slides with Roller Wheels

The nylon slides on most steel sheds make it hard to open and close the doors. I have an easy upgrade to improve the door action for about $10. No modifications to the shed other than to remove the slides and replace them with these wheels.

I am still wondering how the wind managed to open the shed door last night when it was latched tight? The DOOR is broken and needs fixing; by the way I paid $500 for that small shed. It seemed like the neighbors door was opened last night and a bucket was making a lot of noise all night. I also saw a cooler stuck under a car ( not sure how it got there though 😂😂😂😂 It seems like Turkey and family was the neighborhood show case for today 🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃

Looks like a great fix, except for me the slot in my tack faces down towards the floor not on the side. any ideas?

You could possibly make an axle with the rollers. Then, add a central bracket or plate that ties into your doors.

Great video! Unfortunately, I don't own a lathe. I've got the substitute washers & lock washers. Is there a specific order to place the lock washers & washers to create the ideal spacer?

I'm in the process of trying to generate the make-shift Spacer. From what I can tell it goes: Nut, 3-Round Washers and a lock Washer (Per Bolt).

Yes, the lock washers should be next to the bearing, the washers should be against the door.

how are the nylon door bearings holding up? Just ordered some myself.

They’re holding up well! I gave them a drop of 3-in-1 oil a month or so ago.

My problem is the track that holds them is bent. Would like to replace the track, but don't see any videos for that. This looks good, by the way, but I already replaced the glides.

Got same problem with steel glide. How long are the screws for the door rollers?

I used 3/4” but 1/2” would work fine.

I used what I had, 1” long but 5/8 or 3/4” long would work fine.
