Love using Dolphin connectors for sensors on refrigeration systems, if worse comes to worse I'll use the gray wire nuts. Appreciate the knowledge you spread

Thanks for sharing, why if the sensor is 10 k, the reading of the meter shows 20 k?

Murphy has the bad sensor at the lowest point. You have to be careful of humidity intrusion, especially on the sensor near the bottom that will likely get splashed from rain water. Twist and crimp just the wires and coat with liquid tape or Marine Goop for humidity protection.

If that five zone mini-split is only utilizing two of the zones why wouldn't you just pull the sensor for zone 4 out and place it in fives position and repin or cut and splice the wire You're basically ordering parts for them that they will never use instead of using what's there
@TaddyDigest

you would still have a code 334 or 335 if you did that

Nice Video. Great Field improv. Could you borrow the sensor off the unused circuit and put the new one on the unused circuit? That way you don't have to come back.
@TaddyDigest
@TaddyDigest 7 месяцев назад
Glad you like the video thank you for Watching You cannot take it off the unused circuit because then it would display an Error code.

Cool video. Tad, I can't find a parts list or even a diagram of the units parts anywhere for any of my 2 units. One's a Mr. cool 3rd gen 12kBTU heat pump, the other's a blueridge 9kBTU heat pump. Where do I get info? None of their websites have tech info/parts breakdown. If i wanted to get this sensor, i wouldnt have the foggiest idea where to order it! Its like a big secret

Great video! I have a Mitsubishi Electric mini split that gives up when outdoor temperature goes under +4 degrees Celcius. When it comes over 4 degrees again the pump works fine again. Can that be a faulty thermistor?

The ? I have is why didn't you use one of the sensors from the 3 lines that aren't in use. What ever you said about the K ohm reading made no since. Do you mean it falls into range 0 - 99k, 100 - 999k, 1-99M, etc.

Speaking of sensors, have you ever come across a bad sensor that generates a C544 code (gas leak). Samsung tech support told me to ohm out sensors before checking refrigerant charge…I’m assuming it’s refrigerant related

I guess my question would be why bother replacing the generic with the Samsung part? If it works properly then I would leave it. However, I am not an HVAC person but I do have 40 years of electronics background.
@TaddyDigest
@TaddyDigest Год назад
I would leave the generic sensor that would make more sense but the other sensors usually go bad as well so it just makes sense to go back to the original part with all the sensors connected

Are all 10k ohm sensors the same? As well as 100k ohm sensors? I have several units with bad sensors and was curious. I didnt know if these were like PTC or NTC thermistors? I have wire nutted or butt spliced connections on sensors with no issues. I have several samsung units that say either 10k or 100k at a certain degree celcius. Does this degree reading matter as well?
@TaddyDigest
@TaddyDigest Год назад
Not all are the same There are so many that are different I tried to match the ohm's readings I also trying to make sure That I know the difference between a coil sensor and an ambient air sensor

Can I get a generic compatible 2 prong indoor temp sensor for AUX brand mini split or do I have to by from AUX? Im troubleshooting and don't really have the money to keep buying parts until I get to the root of the problem. Temp sensor 34$ from AUX, not to much but no returns and im not sure that's the problem im dealing with. Any advice is appreciated.

Yes you can use a generic sensor Make sure you know what ohm rating is.
