I know it's an older video, but for anyone wondering "Why there's two" or "I have one of driver/passenger side but not the other". It depends on the year of the truck. My '01 has the valve in the video for the DRIVER side, but clearly his is on this passenger. My passenger side is an elbow with a circular seal. The valves do the same job so either side can have the same kind, or if you have two different ones like me, it's fine. For the grommet to the valve cover, I imagine they come in different sizes. My passenger grommet to the cover would not hold my driver side PCV valve. Vice versa. The only difference is: location. where the (Driver) PCV breather valve for me, plugs into the block while my (passenger) valve plugs into the air filter. Try to replace what your dodge has with what it has already, like I did. Hope this helps someone.
So I'm trying to get my pcv in the brand new grommet I just replaced and it's being super stubborn. I've greased both an it's not popping in. Any tricks? Also, the breather groment is listed wrong in all the auto stores, not sure why it hasn't been corrected yet
Mine too. I have the 5.2 and the pcv doesn't fit tight which causes a vacuum leak. I ordered a pcv valve grommet but it doesn't fit the hole in the valve cover. Any suggestions?
Quick question, is it possible for the PCV valve to cause a very high pitch whistling sound? Because on my 360 I have a very distinctive, high-pitched, whistling sound that seems to disappear with acceleration, but the second I let off it becomes prominent again. It’s a brand new 360 I just had put in.
I have the 98 5.2 magnum. The pcv is on the backside of the valve cover on drivers side. It doesn't fit tight therefore causing a major vacuum leak. I bought a grommet but it's too big for the hole in the valve cover. Any suggestions?

Does it matter if I put it on the driver's side with an elbow on the passenger side? Or should it go the other way around? I have grommets on both sides. Is it possible mine uses 2?
I’ve got the 5.9 magnum. I just replaced the PVC valve yesterday and now it rattles at idle. Not sure if it’s a faulty piece or it’s supposed to do that or if I did something wrong. Any explanation would be appreciated.
+Trance Raisch We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
Hi there I changed this part today but when I pulled it off the bottom part fell IN SIDE the engine can I turn on the truck like this or do I need to open and remove the plastic ?
You need to get the plastic out. You can try using a grabber tool (Like this one: www.amazon.com/Flexible-Claw-Automotive-Mechanic-Generic/dp/B000RB7AGY, but you can get them at the local auto parts store, too). It might be difficult to go this route unless you have a boroscope (a tiny camera on a long, flexible neck), or unless you can see the part down in the valve cover. Luckily, removing and reinstalling the valve covers on these trucks is pretty easy. Make sure you clean up the mating surfaces really good and get a new gasket, don't try to re-use the one that's in there. Be sure to look up videos for how to replace a valve cover gasket because you need to be sure to use the correct process or it will leak, or worse, you could damage the engine by over-torquing bolts, etc.
I hope someones still watching this thread. I have a 5.9l 360 and I am trying to reconnect the pcv valve hose and I don't know where it goes. Can anyone help? Thanks a bunch.
+daniel Thanks for watching! Things like engine misfires, bad air-fuel mixture and the present of engine oil in the PCV valve are all signs that it is time to have it replaced!
