Don't be like me when I opened my 2nd hand psp a few months ago for the 2nd time, the screw in the upper right on the back of the psp was to tight and in my idiotic attempt I used a different kind of screw from parts of a 3rd party controller and it got stuck in the process it was loose and there wasn't any way for me to get it out now.

@@nexusprime2487 PSP 3000 is too complicated to repair on your own. Its easier to just ask the repairman to do it instead of even trying.

I cant believe it that i actually replaced the analog, thanks for the tutorial. The only hard part here is the connection of the screen, be extremely careful when you handle the screen and apply the least amount of pressure while trying to disconnect/connect. I damaged my screen but thank god its nearly impossible to notice while playing.

As I was putting the new stick in the little plastic tab that locks the ribbon cable in place broke off. (the one connecting the stick) I tried to put it back but lost it. The ribbon cable stayed in place though and the new stick is working fine after I put everything back together. Hopefully it keeps working. Just be careful, those little plastic tabs don't need a lot of force to break off.

How easy is it to break something badly? I have never taken apart any electronics before so am very worried I will mess this up lol

@@boibudgetmeal It probably took me 13 years to finally break my analog stick. Its my oldest gadget I have. So I expect it to be. The Analog Stick is still fine when registering game movement but now its ghosting around and not calibrating when I push it forward. I had to push it backwards for it to recalibrate. Its a bit annoying if you are in the middle of a game and this happens. Calibrating the analog stick is the only problem I have as of right now. I have prior problems with the buttons on the right and mid side as well and it took me at least $22 to repair it. Grrr... If only I could make $23 again though. Sigh... PSP is the best handheld console my whole life. It had the best games that I could never find anywhere to get on.

i would love to make a new video with that. however, i have no psp 3000 at hand. try applying pressure on the housing where the speaker is. it may just be with a poor connection of the board and the speaker.

Sorry you cant remove the analog with the lcd still in place. The flex/ribbon of the analog is seating directly below the the lcd and the directional button flex.

@@boibudgetmeal Good to know. Its hard to believe that my PSP has a nervous system of chips that connects to each other like a scotch tape. I'll just take a photo first before removing to avoid mistakes because you know, I'm no expert like you. I'm attempting this myself for the first time because the epidemic prevented me from visiting the repairman. And also this should probably let me play Monster Hunter again.

@@boibudgetmeal I just made a handmade tweezers using 2 sticks so that I can insert the "nerve" regions of my LCD screen and the L/directional buttons carefully.
