Week 4 of Titan suspension month. Swapping out the rear shocks on a Nissan Titan/Armada. This job is super easy and anyone with some basic tools can do it. I demonstrate on a 2006 Nissan Titan truck but this will be the same on a Nissan Armada and QX56 of similar years. In fact, this is a very common configuration and the steps will be the same if not similar on a lot of SUVs/Trucks.

I recommend putting the bolt back in the opposite way it came out who came up with the idea of the nut sitting on top of the frame wasn't thinking

Link doesn’t work for Parts used. What’s the part# for the Bilstein Shocks? They look like 5100 but there are 2-different ones. On the Nissan Armada takes a 14mm and I believe the 5100 have a 16mm eye loop to mount.

Good video, thanks. One concern, I installed the 5100s on my '16 XD yesterday. Bilstein's website says to install with Label Up and readable. On mine, this puts the boot at the bottom. You have the boot at the top. Am I missing something? Do I install boot up or boot down? Bilstein label on the shock body should be upright. "The Bilstein label on the shock body should be upright and readable when the shock is mounted on the vehicle in the correct orientation." Thanks again

I bought some 4600 in the front on my 2013 Armada and put new OEM springs and mounting hardware on it. My problem now that the front is so loose and bounces when road is imperfect, are the springs the problem or shocks no good ??? HELP

Armada has a totally different rear end (independent rear) with factory air shocks. To convert to non-air is not as straightforward as you show.

Rather than mess with removing the body mounts on the passenger side I just located where the bolt is and used an inch and a quarter or so hole saw. Then afterwards I can paint a plastic electrical plug and put it in the hole and silicone it in. A lot simpler!!

@@Rythecarguy - You stated in the video that when doing the passenger side you would have to take off some body mounts to access the top bolt. I was just saying how I did it much easier. Most of the time those plastic pins and mounts break getting them off. Such a pain! It took me a minute to locate where the bolt is and hole saw an access hole. Then it can be easily covered or just leave the hole.
