This video is a window replacement not a repair. The hinges completely broke free from the window. Gluing the hinge back was not an option for me. Very easy replacement and worth knowing it's done right.
This is the best video that i have found on this replacement/repair. My back glass spontaneously combusted last week, and insurance wont pay for it, and GM is giving me the runaround.
Liked commented and subscribed. I have an 01 yukon and did the exact same thing. Fixed the latch so the window would open. Replaced the lifters on it and shortly after it started separating. My window is barely hanging on now.
This was a great video. Told it would cost $1100 to fix this at a glass shop. Did some research ( your video),went to a junkyard and found a clean glass /plastic panel for $250, and made the switch. "C" clamps can be a little tricky, but got it to work .Thanks !
THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO!!! i replaced mine yesterday, and you right, my problem started when i replace the rear window lifts, the lenght was 18", is to high, it should be 17"5/8. anyway, i went to a junk yard, i removed myself and I PAY ONLY 30 DOLLARS !!! AND YES, I DISCONECT THE 18" LIFTS
Very thorough. I noticed you to off the c-clips with the large part of the hatch open, it seems a whole lot easy to do it that way instead of trying to struggle with the c-clips by just holding the hatch window. Great job!
rarely the first video i click is exactly my situation, my passenger side hinge is separated, i noticed the window was crooked and saw something was breaking but couldnt quite tell how . another one for the list of things my tahoe needs :( thanks for the vid
I would love to know as well. I have found it for 450 but paying Safelite to do it is only like 530. 80 bucks is not worth it - you get a lifetime guaranty. Is there a cheaper place to get the window? I am wondering.
