Sorry for my ignorance but does the horn get damaged when the airbag goes off? I got a salvage Malibu too. Will need to remove airbag as well. Do those 2 clips involve anything with the horn?
You have to pull out the airbag module which is located under center console and send it off to safety restore or my airbags they hook it up and clear it so all the codes will be erased when you get the module back hook it back up but make sure to disconnect negative battery cable anytime dealing with airbag or air bag components and once module is hooked up and air bags have been replaced take a scanner and delete all the air bag codes
I have been seeing some of your current videos on the malibu. My salvaged repaired malibu steering assist has stopped working. Do you know if after replacing the part, will i need some sort of dealer code reset? I have never had an electric steering issue.
Unfortunately I have not worked on those steering assist features yet. I would hate to tell you something wrong. I suggest you check with a Chevy Dealership. You can just call them and ask them over the phone. Hope this helps. Good Luck!
Dude shouldn’t be allowed to touch a vehicle. No clue how this air bag comes out … it’s very simple u just stick two screw drivers in the sides of the wheel and it pops out
First way to fix it is to reset the Airbag Restraint module using a very expensive scan tool with a tablet screen such as Snap-On. That will clear the crash data codes and clear the airbag light. Second way or option is to replace the Airbag Restraint module with a new one that does not have crash data stored. Hope this helps, let me know how it goes. Thank you for watching!
