I don't know why this video received so many dislikes from impatient people. This is free advice and you should be grateful for this helpful gentleman sacrificing his time sharing his knowledge. I personally found it very helpful. Thanks for your video!
This guy is the perfect teacher, he goes at a steady pace so everyone will understand, some processes slower than others, and I'm grateful he's doing it slow now I have a full understanding. Impatients is your hell, for not having a heart so everyone can have an opportunity, patience is a virtue TRUST ME.
Had to restring my mom's Remington trimmer. Your video was perfect - your instructions were clear enough that I could figure it out even with the minor difference. AND whoever strung hers last had done it WRONG, which no one knew so it went the whole season as a gimpy trimmer. Works great now, thanks.
Thanks a bunch for the demo. I just purchased a Fs 90 and it's the first time I have dealt with the autocut. I normally purchase the cheapo trimmers but I just moved into a new home and wanted something that would last. Very excited about my new purchase!!
Thanks so much for this vid. My trimmer line kept getting stuck and I just know that I did something wrong, but I just didn't know how to solve my problem. Thanks to your great tutorial I will trim with less frustration now and more effect!
Works like a charm now. It stopped once and I figured, either the wires got jammed or I had them in the wrong holes so redid it and success! Thank you!
your suppose to hook each end of the string in the notches on the spool. then u lock the spool with the notches right next to it.your making a way harder then you have to. great video.
Thank you for putting this up and for doing it at a pace that let me follow you. I have a green works trimmer and cold not find anywhere a how to video on how to replace the line. You save me a ton of trouble (my line ran out in the middle of landscaping my yard on a hot day).
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I just bought a worx nitro string trimmer because I want to be able to put a brush cutter blade on it. Hate using gas ones and trying to get them started. While I was trying to figure out how to get the trimmer string off of the shaft I ended up winding the string to the Head. There are no instructions anywhere on how to fix that issue. I searched for days on Google and RU-vid for a video but all I could find was how to change the string head on their original model. Your string trimmer was pretty similar and I knew that tab area you were using must have a purpose on my trimmer but didn't know what it was until your video. I'm trying to find a blade kit to work so I can attach a non-worx blade and while I was waiting I couldn't even use the trimmer till I could figure out how to get the string out. So thank you again very much appreciated!
iScaper1 Awesome video, i got a secondhand trimmer which had no line. I have no clue how to put on a line and i want do do it safely. your video made sure a line is installed and working, im very gratefull! and subscribed!
@ IScaper : I adapted your explanations to what seemed the most logical way to do it on my Villager (bc 1700 xc) trimmer with great success, you saved the day, thanks a lot! ;-) Now I will pass the knowledge to my girlfriend and her mother so that they can do it to in the case I'd not be there. :-)
Nice video! I can reload one of those in about 30 seconds (I have to reload just about every day because I burn through it so fast edging.) I use 2 arm lengths for each side.
Я имею такой же триммер и использую черную леску Stihl диаметром 3,3 мм , она самая лучшая из всех , что я пробовал . Конец лески я подтачиваю , что бы установить в катушку .
You should be able to go to the owner's manual of your trimmers and find the recommended line size there. On my Stihl FS80 trimmer I went to the owner's manual section on replacing the Nylon line and it recommended 0.095" (2.4mm) line for my trimmer.
As a newbie to having my own lawn and owning my first string trimmer this really helped! One question: mine has an "auto advance" feature. Do you have any idea how this works or what it means? It says "no bumping" on the box but I have no idea what that means.
From what I understand of auto feed string trimmers you don't have to bump them to advance the line, the trimmer does it automatically with centrifugal force. I've never had an auto feed trimmer so I don't know how well this feature works. Maybe after you use yours you could report back and let us know how well the auto feed feature works.
