How to replace the alternator on an Audi A3 8L

In this video I will take you through how to replace the alternator on your Audi A3 8L.
This has been done on my TDI, but should be the same for the 1.8T, and easier on non turbo models as the video will highlight.
This video may also be relevant to similar period Seat, Skoda and VW cars as the engines and platforms were shared.
Unfortunately I lost a small amount of footage of the actual moments I removed and replaced the alternator but this is a very minor factor in the process.

i really like your videos cause i got pretty much the same a3 as you have. same color but different engine. its my first own ride and i got some issues with rost aswell. i wanna try and fix some stuff on my own so its nice to have your videos which kinda motivate me to getting started. so keep on going pls with your little a3 project, just waiting for new vids ^^

Hello the alternator has screws give away to me is that with removing the two in the back it doesn't come out greasy

Hello I removed the two screws of the alternator of the 13 and it does not come out do I have to remove the front ones? There is something else to know. Thank you good video

I just met a strange mechanic guy who recommended me to put a 25w60 oil to my a3 2003 turbo with 120k miles. How would that type of oil work? Do you think it will affect its fuel consumption?

That's quite thick, questions would be TDI or petrol, milage and what climate are you in.
