Just wanted to say thanks. As a retired USMC/USAF and not wealthy, you made it possible for me to have breaks. We have a 2014 Ram and now the job is complete. The folks in your town are very lucky to have a good man to work on their vehicles. God Bless.

Thanks! We followed your steps and all went well except removing the rotor. After about 30 minutes of unsuccessful hammering, we found another youtube suggesting we put a bolt thru the back bracket hole, with a nut between the bracket hole and rotor, and then push the rotor out from the back - pushing and then loosening, spinning the rotor and pushing again - around the whole rotor. Only took about 5 minutes to pop it out. Thanks again so much!

Very good video, good tutorial. I used to change my brakes on my own vehicles in the past but I was little nervous about bigger and most expensive truck. It is a good thing I stopped by, I noticed I was making stuff wrong all these years. Thank you!

Thanks for the video! I watched it twice in the past few weeks before I attempted to replace my front rotors and pads on my 2013 this past weekend. I got stuck on one thing though. With only having the truck on the jack and not being able to safely get under it, I wasn't able to break the bolts on the caliper adapter (bracket) even with my breaker bar (which barely fit inside the wheel well. I called my bro-in-law who's more of a mechanic than I am and he took a look at it and then grabbed a scrap piece of hardwood I had in my garage - we were able to position the breaker bar in such a way that we could use the wood jammed against a solid piece of the frame (crossmember I suppose) and lever it against the breaker bar. We used the same technique but with a different lever point to torgue the bolts when we reinstalled them. Other than that hiccup everything went as I expected thanks to your video. I think the 2nd side only took about 15 minutes start to finish.

Great job.Sometimes the bolt get very rusty . At the shop when that happens I do have a 4 ft pipe to use with the breaker bar That was using your head to figure out how to get it off using leverage..

Hey Jim,I had not did brakes since the 1990’s and your video was a BIG HELP and wanted to say thank you.Unfortanetly I paid a local shop to do it 10 months ago and my rotors were chewed up and upon doing it myself I noticed they DID NOT pull the slide pins and lube them and they were bone dry on both sides and the pads seized on the rotors and fried them and I’ll never take it to them again.I actually thought I had a bad hub bearing but it was the brakes that were toast.Had to pay twice within a year but now I did it right .No thanks to the local shop .lesson learned and thanks again .

I've done about a dozen brake jobs. I appreciate the refresher especially since it was my first time with my 2015 RAM. What was interesting is that the truck has 35K miles on it and the front brakes were pulsing badly. You'd think the pads were shot. When I pull off the tire the pads were not even half worn, but the rotors looked like hell. Might have been able to reuse the pads. Still replaced both rotors and pads following your instructions to the letter. Thanks!!!!
