How to Automotive found out my fuel pulsation damper is leaking on my 08 g35 sedan. Can I just replace just that part or will I have to replace the whole fuel line?
I just fixed my fuel damper line thanks to this video, however I didn't have to go under the car to remove plastic clip because once you remove that bracket holding both hose lines you're able to remove the green clip it should be in reach, once again thanks for the guidance.
Weirdly enough, this has been the most helpful video I've found with regards to figuring out where to tap into my fuel lines for my 07 350Z nitrous kit
Great video! I used this information to fix my 370z. Although they are not completely the same, you really did a great job showing what part were what. Keep up the good work!
Thanks, I was able to do this job today by myself on a 2008 G35x with VQ35HR engine. 2 main points I want to share: 1. It's possible to do this without going under the car, It was awkward, however I was able to do it. I took off the heat guard before the green clip. 2. I've been told at Nissan that this part for my VQ35HR is $300, but after searching and asking Infiniti dealership, I found out that the part I needed (22675-JK20b) is the same part that G37's with VQ37VHR use, which turns out to be much cheaper. Locally it would be around $140 at dealerships, but I got one from Austin Infiniti for $85. Great deal, great video, problem solved.👍
@@ivanadmin547 What got me confused at first is that Z1 website has VQ35HR part for over $250, but vq35VHR part(22675-jk20b) is only around $86. These 2 engines share many of the same parts, so maybe it is the same part here also
@@ivanadmin547 Yeah that price is not bad, I was also expecting something close to that. Good luck with this job, it's kind of uncomfortable due to tight space, but pretty straightforward. Also I've used silicone lubricant just in case to protect rubber sealing parts from damage.
@@followyourbliss2404 I got big hands as well but managed to remove everything yesterday today it’s plug everything in and thanks a lot for the support I drive a g35s 08 hr
Just attempted this today because my damper was leaking causing 5 second hard starts and fuel smell in cabin, as well as loud ticking sound heard with windows down. My damper was leaking because I stupidly disconnected it when upgrading my fuel injectors (you don't have to disconnect this when doing so...lol) and I guess O ring crapped out on me by doing that. This was a simple job though that can can be done from up top, no need to go under. I used the flathead to unsnap the plastic clip, removed both hoses from the clip and pushed aside. From there, just unbolt the closest bolt to you/top bolt I think and you can slide/pivot the heat shield towards you (while its still connected with 1 bolt) to unveil the green housing and easily take it off starting from top to bottom. Then you can pinch the green tabs with 1 hand and slide the hose off with the other (tight fit but very doable). Then install in reverse order and by leaving the heat shield on, you just pivot it back into place and bolt back the 1 bolt you took off. Easy.
Is it not important to release pressure in the fuel line by opening the gas cap? That should be the first thing when working with any hoses or lines that contain fluid in a car
@How to Automotive... Great video! I have a quick question. Can you avoid the need to go under the vehicle by simply removing that heat shield to begin with?
Does the damper itself come apart? I was able to purchase what looks like only part of the damper but it doesn't look like the original comes apart like this.
Can you do this without having to go under the car? I’m assuming you can skip going underneath by just taking off the bracket holding the lines and then take off the green cover from up too
Hey, please help I’m a lil confused. I see ur using a VHR part . And I also see that u have a HR . But the part numbers are different from a HR to a VHR . I’m currently trying to buy one but I can’t find the right one. They are 200 at the dealer and Z1 has them for 180 for HR and 80 for the VHR. I don’t know if u noticed that or not. Will I be ok if I use the VHR ones . Thanks
I have an 03 350z and it just started out of nowhere that the car hesitates to start sometimes it will crank a couple times before firing could this be the problem I’ve changed the starter and the alternator also spark plugs haven’t changed a fuel pump or filter yet and I have been reading about these I’m not sure if it’s a fuel issue once the car is running it’s perfect
about to tackle this job after noticing this damper leaking gasoline (you could hear it hissing after shutting the car off and also had noticeable fuel smell). don't feel like bbq'uing myself yet. p.s. this job would've been 1000x easier if you could just pop the damn thing out of the line. Infiniti had to make sure you replace the full (dealer-only) line instead of a $10 part...
Update it’s been 3 weeks since I replaced the fuel damper on 2006 g35 coupe, it’s the same process but different layout of the location thank you so much for the step by step process I would highly advise lifting the car to make this job easier and a 30 minute or less job
no not like fuel regulator. completely different part. dampener helps even pressure for fuel injectors. regulator just supplies correct amount of fuel by my understanding..
@@madawgcrusher258 so I did figure it out. There’s a dampener writhin the fuel rail . That metal replacement of which there are two is specific for inside the fuel rail. The one(in the video) in the videos attached to the hose is one piece
