Learn how to replace the fuel pump on your Yamaha Raider in this video from Partzilla.com
This video begins assuming you’ve already completed the diagnostics and have identified the fuel pump as the problem. We’ll start by removing the seat and disconnecting the battery since we don’t want any electricity around that might arc when we open the fuel system.
With those tasks out of the way, we’ll remove a bracket and then John will show you how to remove the fuel pump on your Raider. We’ll get to work disconnecting the fuel pump from power and then from the fuel hoses. There is a unique hose clip above the fuel pump, and John will show you how to remove it.
Next, we’ll remove the fuel pump and then install the new one. Along the way, we’re going to replace a pair of O-rings that seal the fuel pump. Once everything is connected, John will show you how you can use a test light to make sure your fuel pump is getting power.
After that, we’ll wrap up the fuel pump replacement on this Raider by replacing the bracket and then the seat.
