Good process. The only thing I would do different is work the tabs on the side cover from the inside so you don't damage exterior surface and ALWAYS disconnect cables before the screws. The reason for disconnecting cables first is, if the part falls it doesn't damage the cables. I have been a technician for 20+ years and have unintentionally damaged cables before doing the screws first.
Excellent video, great!, please could you make another one video with how to replace RMI-5420 solenoid in hp CP2025?. I need replacement, but I don't know where is this part. Thanks you. Regards Paco.
I couldn't find a full disassembly video, but you can find out how to get access from above to do the reduce stickiness hack. Put a portion of a folded self-adhesive label in between the magnet and the solenoid terminal. To do this, remove side cover, remove side plastic assembly. That will give you enough access from the right side to see the top of the solenoid. Replacing the solenoid fully is a whole lot more work.
What are the symptoms of a faulty fuser please? My printer has started to have coloured streaks vertically across the printouts even if im only printing in Black & White.
Could be leaky toner. Try replacing those first if you have spares. Could be a bad or dirty transfer belt. Try cleaning it or replacing. Usually the fuser will have broken pieces causing gaps in printing or caked on toner causing splotches on the paper.
Quest comment & a question. Great 1 hand work, buy a tripod or have someone else help you. My HP2025 prirints great untoil I do red, then the right side of the paper get hit enough. Every other color is great. Fuser issue???
Only the red color on one side? If you have another red toner I would try that. If a new red toner does not work I dont know what would cause just the red to do that on one side. Might want to try to ask that question on a printer repair forum. Or see if you can get some help from HP.
While this was a good guide, bear heed. You don't have to remove the tabs or the straps. And you don't have to remove the left cover. It's not in the way, and all the wiring is on top. That also means you don't have to completely remove the top cover. Just loosen it from the rear. If your model has dulpexing gears, not covered here, there are only 3 screws you need to remove. One at the top left, one in the middle you need to look for, and one at the bottom you need to look for. it took 2 people 30 minutes to remove the left cover, and we smacked our foreheads when we found it made no difference at all
