Did you apply any thermal grease on a new ignition Control module? And if you did how much. I'm afraid I put too much (like 1-2 tsp, Silicon Thermal Compound)). Do you know what can be the consequences if you put too much. the car runs normally, but I want to double check. Thank you for a good film.
@@aaronmobilemechanictv7841 Thank you, I also think it won't hurt. Just that ICM looked weird w/a layer of white Silicon Heat transfer compound on its back. I checked today w/scanner, no codes. I've read somewhere (don't remember the source) that ECOTEC 2.2 ICM (the car is 2003 Chevy Cavalier) doesn't require any thermal grease, since that Module has a heat sink inside. So I'll see having that compound inside. And actually when I removed the Module for the 1st time there was a blob of some grease inside (yellow, like for soldering). No one could tell what it is, I threw it away, then I thought maybe it was some thermal grease that the manufacture applied and after many years the grease formed that ball (like 1/2" in D). Thank you again.
