this DIY video shows you how replace all the power steering hoses in your power steering. i don't have any problems with my PS hoses. i'm just doing this DIY for a preventive maintenance. i bought 2 quarts of Castrol Transmax ATF (meets Dexron III requirements) but i only used 1 quart. nice to have an extra quart just in case.
DO NOT RE-USE THE OLD CRUSH WASHERS

The level on Max line is the recommended for the idoneous level on ATF fluid for the engine oil temperature at 20 degrees (non service temperature, cold engine) I speak with ISTA + toubleshooting manuals (the same than TIS documentation), so it notifies the ATF fluid could be a little bit over the max mark on the steering pump reservoir with the engine at service temperature (engine oil temp at 60 degrees) I say that cos you show the line between max and min, but TIS recommends to have the level on max for cold engine. Also it recommends to dont use any kind of elements for the refill, it should be performed directly from the ATF bottle cos the dusty.

HI ANDy I am replacing the high pressure power steering hoses..I finally got the banjo bolt off..the one that goes into the pump itself~~~i had to use a breaker bar ..it was on super tight.the new replacement had a hairline crack in the metal part (right below banjo bolt hole) that goes into pump... I am raising the driver side of the car only to work underneath car.....would that cause the line to break when lowering car?????? PLEASE RESPOND..thanks

i have a 2008 BMW 328i automatic sedan i cannot get the banjo BOLT out of the power steering pump..its a 22mm ..no tool, socket , wrench or breaker bar will fit in there its under a lot of torque..the other bolt came out with a breaker bar but i cant get a breaker bar or socket on there good..its at an angle and I used a flex too, no go..please help MY TRANNI OIL COOLER LINES ARE BELOW ..NOT LIKE URS ..they r in the way of the pump banjo bolt, too.

Hey Randy, what is that sound at 16:59 while installing the 19mm banjo bolt? Also what do you mean by the 26 pounds to 30 pounds? How would I be able to do that?

that’s my digital torque wrench. you set your torque wrench to whatever torque value you’re going to tighten the bolt
