In the first episode of this Volvo V70 project, you may have seen when we went through some of the errors that must be fixed on this Volvo. The rear right side belt will never pass an inspection because something has chewed it up. As I believe and guess, it can be quite time-consuming to replace only the broken seat belt, so instead we choose to replace the current backrest on this Volvo V70.
We found an ad on the marketplace where someone was selling parts from a Volvo V70N. So we went to the city Kopparberg on an excursion and bought this backrest. On this new used backrest, the seat belts were intact and fine, so now we just have to go home and change the backrest. Before you change the backrest, you need to disconnect the car from power. This is done by disconnecting the negative cable on the battery in the tailgate. Please wait 10 minutes before disconnecting the connector located in the rear backrest. As for the assembly again, we also need a bunch of locks on the bolts for the seat belt anchorages. If you are careful with torque tightening, which you should be, the bolts for the seat belt anchors should be tightened to 48 Nm. Thanks for watching.
