The Samsung Galaxy S8 can seem impossible to repair yourself. With no visible screws and a solidly glued-on display and rear panel, you might think there’s no hope of getting into this phone. But you absolutely can, and this video will walk you through the steps of replacing the Charging Port (I/O Daughterboard) on your Samsung Galaxy S8.

i wish youtube repair videos were more honest. anytime you hear " this part is a little tricky or requires a bit of patience " you can be sure that that step will almost universally incite a murderous rage that will in some way permanently damage your psyche. ive looked at a dozen videos on how to get the back glass off, raised the temperature to a frightful level and the glass didnt budge

The charging port is on that last circuit board it showed being removed. You replace that entire part. It costs around $10 on amazon.

Small tip for s8 users that have problems with charging. Try clearing out the dust in the charging port. It might help! It did for me.

Okay, my phone is assembled and working great. I was very skeptical after I dissembled my phone but it worked. I do realized that my phone is probably no longer waterproof.

my charging port works but it seems the plastic that holds the pins in place is damaged. since i need to replace my screen anyway i think i will just replace that as well.

You have to sacrifice some things for a compact phone , putting the charging port's board over the motherboard won't do well.

Hi, after replacing the usb port, my mobile network keeps switching off and on. Especially always after when I put the phone on sleep. Can you please tell me what can be the issue? Tried resetting the phone, got a new Charging port and replaced it but the network issue remains. Help please.

Thank you so much I was so upset because I tried this method 1st and used that adapter piece that came with my s8 also and it didn't work. It turned out the 2nd usb I used was ALSO DAMAGED so after watching this video a 2nd time I decided to use a 3rd brand new usb wire. I used one I knew 100 percent that was not broken and it works! Its fast charging again and it was the usb wire like you said it wasn't the fast charge adapter

My problem with one(which for the record I own) is that fact that it takes up 2/3 hours minimum to fully charge the phone. While my charging port is at 70-80 minutes max.

I bought one, charges my phone from 0% to 100% in 3 and a half hours, fast enough for me. But I still want to use my c port for plugging in USB memory sticks to transfer files. Much faster than wifi or Bluetooth connections. I was also thinking about buying a docking station for my S8. Pretty sure that uses the C port as well.

My charging port completely melted when I went to charge it. It sheared off the tip of the cable entirely! I charge in my car when the phone is up on a window mount so wireless charging isn't an option unless I also buy a new mount that has that built in. I'll spend the $99 to get the port repaired.

It depends on how you reseal it. If you do it correctly, and you use a proper sealant again (like what you remove by heating it up here) - you should be able to get decent watertightness again.

i bought two same boards E4 and when i install new board the usb is charging but there is no network, and when i install the broken flex board there is network again???
