Thanks for these instructions. Someone backed into my Cayman in a parking lot and cracked the lens. I was worried this might be a real chore to replace, so glad to see it's quite easy.
I really like these video's as I have learned so much and apply most vid's when working on my car (07 Porsche Cayman). I would like to share that I found a way of replacing the bulbs without removing the 3 nuts and pulling the assembly out. The way this is done is by removing the cover then pressing the tab, after doing this the assembly containing the lights disengages and allows you to simply pull the assembly out. They have molded the cutout where it allows you to do so. I learned this step from my friends in Stuttgart, Germany while touring their plant. I hope this helps as I continue loving on my Cayman (best car ever).
Nice video, thank you. Have to replace mine today, someone rammed a shopping cart into to my driver side tail light and cracked the red plastic cover. Found pieces all over the floor. It amazes me that Porsche paints over black plastic with beige paint. I have the same issue with my trunk interior. The beige paint scrapes off to reveal black plastic underneath. I took my ashtray to Lowes and had them color match paint in a sample size paint and touched up the scrape marks. It worked very well. Just thought I would share. My wife has a Jeep Wrangler Sahara with Beige interior, which is made of beige color plastic….a vehicle that cost a quarter of the price. Go figure. Thanks again!
in my 2008, you don't need to remove the entire assembly to access the light bulbs, just un-plug the power cord, release the clip and the light bulb panel will wiggle out easily. No tools required
Are the minor and major services necessary to go to the dealer or you can do the oil, sparks brakes etc yourself and only go if there is a major problem you cant fix yourself? Im getting a cayman but i am a bit scared for maintenance prices for the car but your vids are clear and it seems to be less expensive than what others say in blogs and forums. Awesome vids and keep up the great work!!!!!!!!!
+mralec1992 it all depends if you want to be able to say "certified porsche maintained" when you sell it. if that doesnt matter to you, then you can do the work yourself

Dear Summit Auto, respectfully... Porsche designed this taillight bulbs to be serviced from the trunk interior without removing the complete taillight assembly. Good video though!
+CaymanGarage Nice, but the Cayman S as is such a great car! So I guess you won't change switch the tail lights with some LED units if you're gonna sell it soon
