Yes there is a gasket, I didn't replace it because it was still in good shape.

Next time you're in there spray it down with PB blaster in the can an let it sit spray in the head also falls off like mudwater. Cleans in the ports. Acid cleaners harm the gaskets. Idid my merc 90 saltwater clean. And put A flush on the head.
