The Ford Fusion has a safety concern (Not a recall) on the throttle body. They won't replace it for free anymore, but they are still failing. Appreciate the video.

When the throttle body on this car goes out you start to lose power and it just shuts off. Happened to me with my 2010.

Love the Fusion videos, I have the same car. There was a recall on the throttle body, so I would check with Ford before replacing.

I had a couple years back purchased a 2011 Ford Fusion used and low miles I could not find anything wrong with the car other than the electronic steering would go out sometimes and the car would turn off randomly at times. 4 days ago the car started up drove for about 30 min and for no reason at all started shaking due idling real low and the gas pedal had no response. I was able to put it in drive and drive it to a mechanic with using the gas pedal and does like 4 times. I also had taken the car previously to the mechanic for randomly dying and they said they didn’t know what it was because there was no code displayed from the problem. This time there indeed was a code displayed which told the mechanic throttle body failure. It was an expensive part but had no issues with it ever since thanks for the video

Same exact story I had to explain to everyone or mechanic and thought nothing was wrong . All I would get is after it's stalled out was a little WRENCH. But as of yesterday my check engine light came on. It says I need a throttle body actuator sensor. But I'm gonna clean it first. I hope it goes well on me. But sorry this video helped and same with this story you told.

You make it look so easy, I just tried to replace the air filter in my 2019 Ford Fusion. The removal was easy but it look almost 20 minutes, lots of cursing, panic to get that darn cover back on since it has the back brackets and it just wouldn’t seat. I’m still not sure I have it on correctly.

I don't care HOW mechanically illiterate one could be,but this is a 10-15 minute job that will save you HUNDREDS of dollars! They want $600 bucks to replace mine at the shop,I laughed in there face and said Goodluck on the next sucker.......

So there's no reset for the throttle body? It's just a part switch and you can drive it, no programming?

What year is the Fusion in this video? I have an 07 Ford Fusion 4 cylinder and my throttle body has 2 hoses connected to it. The part I bought says it fits 2006-2009 Ford Fusion 2.3L. It also has a place for each hose to connect. I don't see any hoses connected in your video is why I'm asking. I'm a VERY rookie mechanic (aka RU-vid certified lol) so I just want to make sure I'm doing this right before I do it. Edited to add: I've actually confirmed it myself and I did indeed locate and purchase the correct part. The hoses I was referring to are the coolant inlet and coolant outlet hoses. If you have an 06 to 09 Fusion, here's a guide that helps us but this video is essentially the same except you disconnect and plug those hoses.
