As we thought, this was a horrible job. The video helped. Wire colors were all off. Coach to motor blue isn't blue its green. Other shade had to guess to red and blue. Would be so easy for directions to state up down, but it didnt. And yes we expected problems, had to switch them for the ups and downs. Learned 14 turns for a spring rewind. Put in stronger screws up top. Got it done. If you don't think you can do this job. Don't try it.

The set screw is actually 11 3/8 inch from the end. With the motir still in. 10 5/8 inch from end of tube.

Thanks for the video. Huge help. One problem was getting the screws back that hold the thing up. 4 on the windshield side are wood screws that go into flake board. The 4 on the inside of the coach are machine screws. These thread into those nuts that have prongs on and sink into the flake boards. Mine came out of position. Had to remove the backs of the two side cabinets to get them back in place. What a pain.

I understand. The wood in some of these RV and what things are screwed into are pretty lame.

Hi, we have a Carefree of Colorado PowerVisor 3 set up in our motorhome. The day shade motor has gone dead. Are these all basically the same design as the one you worked on? Set screw probably as well? Just getting all the info I can before digging in. Thank you!

Mark I would think so. It I’d a basic motor within the shade. Hope that helps

The Hungry Cuban Adventures Well, I dug in and was able to get the motor out. No set screw thankfully! It’s an MCD motor. Now the fun part of tracking one down. Thanks for your video! It really helped me go in the right direction!

I used this video to replace shade motor and broke the other end of the shade because it is attached with a set screw and VERY delicate. Now I have to replace the entire shade assbly. This warning should be in your presentation.

I do not remember seeing the CB antenna, but then again i was not looking for it. Hope you can locate yours. Contact Tiffin and they will walk you though locating it.

Where did you get the new motors and do you have a part number? Also, did you have to set the stops for the new motors? TIA

Hi Bob I ordered the part from Tiffin parts department. I did not set any stops. The front shade you control the distance you want it to travel with the switch.

When you removed the shade from the frame to unroll it, did you have a spring inside the tube that came unwound? We removed our solar shade from the frame to unroll it to get to the set screw and we heard the spring unwind. Just wondered if that happened to you and how you put it back together if it did happen..

Hi Diana, We dd hear the spring unwind, but we did not do anything and it is working fine. We reinstalled without a problem. Hope that helps

My shade stops about 14” from the top. Do I need to take it down and wind it by hand or is there a was to reprogram the stop?

Joseph I don’t know that answer. Find the name of the manufacturer and call them fir more info. Sorry I could not help.

How did this finally work out? Did you need to take it back down and wind it up by hand? I haven't started my motor replacement, but anticipating any issues I might have.
