Thank you very much man. You're saved me with this one after I had the intake valves hit the pistons and I had to take it all apart and now couldn't synchronize anymore without your help. Thank you good Russian man!:D
@Peter Finn, simple question as I plan to do this on my 1.4 Zetec. When slacking of the belt do the camshaft sprockets need loosening where they are free like yours or can they be left tightened? I have the Ford Timing Tool and Locking pins to keep Cams and Crank in place. So does this mean I can literally remove the tensioner, remove old belt, replace water pump then put new tensioner on, followed by new belt? I can't see why this wont leave everything timed, would just like a little input as you clearly have experience with this engine.
Hi Peter, How do you know how far to screw in the timing pin bolt? If it's not a the Ford original pre-set length then if you go too far or not far enough it won't be exactly TDC. Or is close enough good enough?
Hello, I have to redo the distribution of my Fiesta 1250 cc. in 2011, in your opinion, is the bolt screwed into the back of the engine block sufficient to lock the crankshaft when I tighten it with the dynamometer? or can you bend or break? It was to avoid dismantling the starter. Thanks.
Hello, thanks for this video. I m already to make the timing belt on a spjd 1.4 duratec, and i have a question, What are the length under the head of the bolt (screw) for timing the crankshaft ?? Thanks a lot
Hello, Thank a lot for the excellent lesson in how to fit the timing chain. I by mistake turn the crankshaft without the main bolt attached. So I miss the timing. I forgot this timing procedure and turn the engine by hand whit a bit efort until it turns. Then again until a bit efort and freely again. Dummy me. Then I read the manual carefuly and insert the timing pin on the slot on the rear engine until the crankshat hit it. Put the iron bar on the slots of the camshafts. Mount all, turn the engine two turns and the timing marks are OK. But there is a starnhe thing. The engine has no compression and wont start. Is tere any possibility to have damaged the valves while turning by hand out of timing?
you can help me with the tightening torque table for the total adjustment of that engine friend a greeting from Mexico I would greatly appreciate your Apollo
Hi, I have ford mondeo mk2 wagon, 1.8 16v 1998, and I must replace timing belt, but I don't know which belt I will buy because I don't know how many teeth my belt has, and in store they don't know what to give me, can you help me? Thank you!
Hey Peter, l just replaced the water pump in my Ford Figo but l've noticed that when l need power in first gear or reverse, the rev count remains below 1 & stepping on the gas the engine acts as though it's shutting off. What could be the cause for this?
What year is tha zetec? I have a ford focus 2001 and the engine is a zetec but look very different, the water pump isn't located in same place of that one, there is located the ac compressor!!
