yes, you definatly need to shake it, BUT you should always shake all toners while they are still IN the box, that way if it were damaged by UPS or the likes of delivery companies may have damaged it, the toner won't spill.
i bought a kyocera km-3050 from a couple who was losing everything for only $50...it's not working properly but im afraid to call the company to look at it because they might take it away if it's not fully paid off. Do you think that's a reality? what should i do
