After reading several comments, I see that I have done extra steps in this video. If you are only replacing the bearing and not the axle, there is no need to loosen the knuckle. The bearing can pull straight away from the axle.

Great job only thing don't use red loctite on maintenance bolts red is for permanent use blue look at what's on the bolts you took out usually if none is on the bolts from factory then it's not required the bolts are design to swell up by heat from rotating that helps seal and keeps the nut lock example think about if you put loctite on your lug nuts yes it would lock but think about when it's time to service other than that you did an awesome job 👍👍💯

Great video the only thing I hate to say anything but I found that those 24 mm bolt from the strut assembly to the Knuckle are actually Pressed/hammered in so you just take the nut off and then hammer the bolt out so you dont ruin the press threads

Its really gonna suck when someone has to replace that hub again, or even the cv shaft. Really shouldnt use high strength threadlocker on fasteners that may need to be removed later. Medium strength should be used. Which is what they used from the factory.
@TheYouTubeMechanic
@TheYouTubeMechanic Год назад
I don't think so man. I've never actually had a problem removing a nut because of thread locker. Whether I put it there or someone else put it there. (Except yellow thread locker from Dodge) In any case, let's hope you're wrong. And if you're right, let's hope I'm the one that gets called to do the job.

Just put anti seize lube on the inside of the impact socket and then when the lug nut is spun all the way off, spin it back onto the stud a little bit and work the socket back and forth and your lug nut will come right out of the socket and spin it off the wheel stud with your fingers.
@TheYouTubeMechanic
@TheYouTubeMechanic Год назад
The correct size is 19mm. The lugnuts get stuck inside a 19mm. They get stuck on these fords because of a manufacturing defect. It's a very common issue. www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=www.caranddriver.com/news/a15339991/swollen-lug-nuts-are-costing-ford-drivers-time-and-money-lawsuit-claims/&ved=2ahUKEwjpxvP8g5D2AhVvJUQIHaBTDRkQFnoECDEQAQ&usg=AOvVaw04r3zh5aFjIHWFDztjTxv3

Also, instead of a using a screwdriver and gouging up your rotor, use a c clamp and push the caliper piston back in with your cap off your master cylinder so you don't blow it out.
@TheYouTubeMechanic
@TheYouTubeMechanic Год назад
nah it's no big deal. a tiny gouge means nothing. its gone after a few miles and it doesn't hurt anything but it is hella fast to do it my way in many cases. its ok to baby your own stuff, but mechanics work a little different.

Maybe you didn't put something on right. Maybe the parts you used were bad. Make sure everything is tight. If everything is tight then start by replacing one of the wheel bearings again. Just take it back to AutoZone to get warrantied out.

Just bang on the side of the socket with a hammer to get the lug nuts out much easier than using a screwdriver

You don't watch many videos, do you? There is a reason he is the "RU-vid Mechanic." This is definitely not how you work on a car. There are so many things I can put him down over, but these are just a few issues. First off, who uses locktite on car bolts? Second, hitting the threaded end of the axle with a metal hammer is a huge no no. You will deform the threads, then end up not being able to get the nut back on. Lastly, he had no reason to pull the strut off. That bearing can come off without removing the strut. This may work but it is far from efficient.
@TheYouTubeMechanic
@TheYouTubeMechanic Год назад
boy you are a slow one. im gonna eat you up right now. 1. Who uses Loctite on car bolts? bro what do you even mean? just type in to google ''Loctite on car bolts'' and see. 2. the ''end'' is NOT THREADED. that's why it's ok to hammer on it. that's also why the axle nut went back on with no issue. 3. Lastly, yes you DO have to remove the strut bolts. or at least you have to remove something. the manual wants you to loosen control arms and tie rod ends. which is WRONG. Don't do that. remove the strut bolts and save the headache. because even if you're correct, you're still wrong because the way i showed was better. this job was finished in under an hour and the book time is 1.8hrs. And I am the youtube mechanic for the sake of discoverability. Because before when it was Everywhere Auto Repair, i wasn't getting algorithm boosting dummies like you saying stupid shit to my people. so thank you for the comment and i patiently await your video on how to do this job or how to do ANYTHING. CAN YOU TEACH ANYONE ANYTHING? prove it.

@@TheRU-vidMechanic First off about me I've been a mechanic since I was 16 I'm now 53 for 5 of those years I worked on heavy otr trucks but mostly automotive shops and after-hours in my garage. Don't let guys like that get to you, he sounds like a new mechanic fresh out of school quoting instructors and books who's trying to show what he's learned, what he said about loctite was incorrect and he definitely doesn't sound like he does wrenching for a living. I really liked this video it was very informative and everything you did was correct in my opinion (for what that's worth). Keep up the great videos !! P.S. Maybe turn down the background music a little lol

Hey genius you know those strut bolts are splined and not meant to spin in there, right?.. you're suppose to remove the nuts with the impact and hammer them out, NOT SPIN THEM ON THE BOLT SIDE WITH THE IMPACT. You just stripped out the holes and splines
