I just did this on my 2000 Accord EX v6. My regulator was different, and ordered it online for $60. Just took 4 hours after studying this video. Make sure you have all the tools, grease, painters tape next to you. I also had baggies for the different families of screws, and I used tape to label the wire connectors. Thanks 1a-auto!
Thank you for doing this video. The motor or regulator broke on a Sunday, the day before a rain storm was due so I had to fix it myself. Your video saved me from getting gouged by a mechanic at a garage. It took me a couple of hours to do the work but your video was spot on. I am just incredibly slow. The teacher is the master, his pupil is slow.
+Manal Asbahi We're glad our video was able to help you get this repair done, and save you money! If you have an order with us, and would like to leave us a review on Google it would be greatly appreciated. Here is a link to our reviews section. Have a great day! goo.gl/i5JFNY
Thank you again for the training and tips!! Your training video helped me replace the driver's side window regulator/motor, earlier this year, on 2002 Honda Accord LX 4 Door. Now you helped me replace the same on the passenger side. All working well. Much appreciated!!
It was my window regulator that was the problem. I wouldn't have thought it could be the regulator, because my window would do up and down. A new regulator fixed the problem. Thanks 1A Auto! Keep posting videos!
I watched 2 or 3 videos before starting this job. 1A dis did a good job of fast forwarding through the obvious steps. Every step on my car went just like in the video. Took about an hour. Hardly swore at all. Thanks!
Another happy customer. Fantastic turn-around time. I ordered my regulator online and it was here within four days. Just kept the video up and had no problems following the step-by-step. Thanks for all your help! Think I might replace a couple of power door lock actuators next... =)
Thank you 1A Auto! I replaced both front regulators on my 98 Honda with parts purchased from your web store. The passenger side was failing and the driver's side stopped working all together after 21 years. The video made the replacement easier and the new regulators work just like the OEM.
Wow!! Ordered the regulator Monday afternoon and it was at my door the next morning!! Love that overnight shipping! Thanks to the video installation was pretty straightforward (with a minimum of sailor swearing) ... saved $150 on this fix!! Thank you! Thank you!
I had the situation of the window motor dying. 😔 It was painful but it can be done by feel using a 10mm wrench to loosen them and by hand the rest of the way. Just take your time, take breaks, and be patient. For the left bolt you’ll have to put both arms through the left side but you can put one arm on each side for the right bolt. Other than this snag, it went perfect! Your videos are great and explain everything thoroughly, thank you. 🙏🏼
Thanks for the great video. We bought a few parts from your website because of the good instructional video, and we put everything back in the right place and is working 100% Thanks to you. Good job
This video was so useful and helpful three years ago when my Accord's power window motor went out on the driver's side. The passenger side gets its turn now, lol. Thanks so much for the excellent video and as I want to note--that advice not to overtighten the bolts is so right. Much appreciation!

Thank you, I saved $100 by doing the repair. I recommend a 10mm ratcheting box end wrench for the bolt that you will have to remove through the speaker hole (if your motor does not have the capability to go up). Very frustrating with standard wrench. The repair would've been shorter with rachet wrech, with tools I had and first time ever doing this repair 2 hours.
@@1AAuto My front left regulator is the one I replaced for my 2000 4D Accord. Will my rear regulators fail soon? Should I replace the now before they fail?
Great video, gave me exactly what I needed to get this job done myself. And I am *not* very repair-savvy, so that's saying something. One slight challenge I faced was that my window was initially stuck in the "up" position. I could not lower the window to a point where the bolts were visible (as you see at around 5:20 in the video). Fortunately, my arms and hands are pretty small, so I was able to reach in through the big hole in the bottom left of the door with a small 10MM wrench and blindy loosen them. Aside from that, everything went just like the video for me.
Thank you for this tip. It's the only advice I found in all the Internet about how to deal with this situation. Unfortunately I don't have small hands but my 5 inch long 10mm open wrench could reach the bolts into the crevasse from above next to the window. A longer wrench might be obstructed by the window. Fortunately there was no tightening torque on the bolt. However, there was no headroom to remove the forward bolt. I used cut up pieces of a thickfoam pool noodle to wedge the window glass as far outward as possible, then I could unscrew the bolt entirely. The foam rubber also held the glass in place. This step took me more time than all of the other steps combined.
Great walk through. I was able to replace the regulator on my 02 Accord thanks to this. The only problem I had was that my window was stuck down so I couldn't get those two screw connecting the window to the regulator off so easily. I kind of had to wing it but it worked out.

I want to THANK YOU so much for this video. It took me about 3.5 hours with some help from a neighbor. The sticky stuff that holds the plastic liner up is extremely messy, so anyone doing this should wear old clothes & take care to avoid getting it on you.

If the window is going up at an angle (tilting forward) and stops, basically dying half way up and I have to push it up the rest of the way, it is something other than the regulator? Could the motor be bad or it is something I can adjust on the track to fix it? Thanks!

Great video! Fixed my own window regulator and saved time and money! I was wondering if you could perhaps do a side-view mirror repair and install for this car?
The window frequently cycles when it is at the top; is this due to defective window regulator or something else that is supposed to turn off the motor when it reaches the top. This has been happening for a long time. Came to your videos because the inner door handle just disconnected. Glad I did. Thank you.

You will most likely end up having to replace the window regulator and motor to get rid of any doubt about which one is bad. What can happen over time is the bracket can get worn out and bend or create a groove causing it to get bound up at certain points.
I got it done this afternoon. I had a couple hangups because I had never done this before. I watched the video several times and got through it at a fraction of what the cost the shop wanted to fix this issue .
Yes , Thank you much for this video you saved me a lot of time/ headaches trying to figure out how each part comes off and how the new 1 goes on. Great tutorial
@donmoocao It could be the master switch that has gone bad or you might have a broken wire between the door and body of the car. I would check there for any broken or frayed wires. Hope this helps you out.
My window regulator "exploded"! Both springs let go and sounded like a gun shot. Then the window started to slowly open. Thanks to this video, I was able to diagnose the issue, order the correct part and get it installed with out issue. Upgraded the speakers while I was in there. THANKS!
Thanks for the great instruction. My 2000 accord driver side window of a sudden stopped closing all the way up.. And made a clicking sound if you held the button.. Hope this helps others diagnose towards a new regulator.

@Waterpolodude3 If you need to replace the window regulator you can take the door panel off and try to push up on the window from inside of the door. If this doesn't work you could cut the window regulator cable, then that should free the window up so that you can then push it into the up position and tape it into place. Hope this helps you out.
@FFlyMan The 2001 Honda Civic may be a little different. The process to remove it would be the same, such as you need to remove the door panel and tape up the window etc.

This video is very informative! I've got an accord that the driver side window is not closing up completely but will go down without a problem. Before I order the part in your website, you think I would need a regulator with motor or just the motor?
I really like your videos. They have helped me solve several problems with my cars. I currently have a 2002 accord coupe that may need a new regulator. The regulator in this 4 door looks different from the coupe. Unfortunately I couldn't find a video on your channel for the coupe. Do you have a video for replacing a regulator in the coupe?
+Nicholas Childers We currently do not have a repair video on an 02 4 door. We do carry replacement window regulators of your Accord on our website. Here's a link to them goo.gl/vQ2hbE
Hi, your videos are really good and informative. Both my driver side window and passenger side window in my Accord coupe will not work using the buttons on the driver side. However, the passenger side window works if I use the button that is on the passenger side. Is this fixed by replacing the regulator on the driver side or is it a different part that I should be replacing?
I followed along with this video and I was able to change my regulator myself. Thank you very much for making this!! I couldn’t have asked for a better guide. That dang water shield didn’t want to come off, but i managed. I’ll look to your channel for more guides as I need them.

@1aauto Yeah, this is what I needed to do to my car, I ordered the part for an 04 on your website, much cheaper than the dealership, they wanted like 250 for the part and 150 for labor
great videos on the reapirs. what if my window makes a grinding sound and sometimes pauses as if stuck? could there be any trash in the gears or something? should i just get a new regulator?
Great video. Just wished you had shown what to do if the motor died when the window is all the way up. Now that was a pain. It took longer to figure that out then it did to do the rest of the repair.
