My Power -/light/ is on, so I'm assuming it's not a fuse: However, I dropped it, lightly, (I mean real lightly, and it was a low fall; CLOSE to the ground); but after, -- no sound. I'm conflicted; ANY advice.?

thank you I got my hs5 work flawlessly again , I was confused when I got mistake connect HS5 to my 220v without check the specs . it blowed the fuse right away. can not buy the T400mAL250V but my HS5 using 1A so just got a bunch of them (10 pieces for 1.25$) it just work perfectly

It is best to open up and check the fuse. It could be a different fuse rating.

Nice video! I have a question: A friend bought a 110v HS5. And connected it to our home 220v power supply in Argentina. Did the fuse protect the monitors from this difference of voltage? Changing them would fix the problem ? (and using a transformer of course)

Hi, I'm not so sure as I never experience it myself. If the fuse, managed to cut the power off before burning the other components, changing the fuse might work. Try opening it up, see if there are any sign of blown capacitor or transistor. If the circuit board looks fine, give the fuse replacement a try as it is the cheapest way to troubleshoot. Hopefully it works. Cheers

@@4thstorey Something I read is that, since the fuse is slow blow, it might now been quick enough to protect the board. So that's why I'm scared (and with the quarantine its kinda impossible here to get service). Thanks for the help anyways!

@@Tobizztube i have repair now my hs8... the right fuse is T800mA (5 x 20mm / 800mA)... you can see the information when you open the hs8 -> on the place where the fuse is

i see there is also a silver coloured fuse you replaced, what is that? i understood the golden one is the SCHURTER SMD-FST Gold Plated Slow Blow Fuse - T400mAL250V but whats the silver one? i have a yamaha HS80M that does go on but the monitor doesnt produce sound, i just press the power on button and a loud blow comes out of it and no sound. does this have to do with the fuse?? please help, im really lost atm :(

Hi the silver coloured fuse is the original yamaha fuse.
