Hi Tom and Thanks for watching! Short answer is yes. So I'm about 5'5" and my first attempt at this which is this video worked great for me but the original seat sliders raised the whole thing maybe 4". For me it was awesome but for my taller friends they literally could not get into the car. So I went and got the special sliders that go with the more expensive seats, I think they were corbeau and super low profile like right down on the floor. They are so simple I could have easily made them but I was in a hurry so just bought a pair. Probably from summit racing, they were hard to find. You need to get left side and right side, they are not the same. Then I did the same thing in the video but with the new low profile sliders, now the seats are back to being close to stock height. I took a few pictures and my intent was to make another video with a voice over. So try that or if you have time wait for the next video. I was very pleased with the results I got and I'll try to put up another video on this soon I hope. I posted a picture of the new seat slider on instagram in case you want to check it out.

If you just want to lower the seats you could scrap the factory sliders and in their place install the low profile aftermarket type with C4 factory seats. That will lower your factory seats about 3-4 inches but you won't get the cool looking racing seat. The trick to all of these ideas is making the template so you can transfer the hole locations.

@@bustedstudgarage they definitely look good...I prefer the Recaro clone style seats just can't decide on a color ...I'm leaning towards red with blacked out carpet dash and door panels... stock was silver grey, looks great but silver wears like shit. I hate how antiquated the flat dash looks so I'm considering the red seats to make them the focal point away from the dash 🤣

@@bustedstudgarage I found them ...thanks for the video ...I had questions as to if they will fit or not ...I know the corbeua seats are a good fit but I don't like the look and the price 😭 funny how the cheap seats look better than the expensive originals they copy 😁

True, you can't beat the original seat for fit and function. Trouble is they are expensive to rebuild with new cushions, covers etc. I might do that someday, plenty of projects here! Thanks for watching !

Yea the seats in my 85 need to be redone and fix and it is expensive but I will save some money by doing the work myself. But either way with classic cars that's all part of the game.

​@@Joe8648yep and the build quality so shitty they're gonna break down again if you keep the car . I've redone mine a few times and this time I'm going with cheap aftermarket...I know they're going to fail but at couple 100$ no problem replacing them again in 8-10 years.
