I have a 2004, w203 and I tried to put the transmitter on but it doesn't work, the light around the cigarette burns, but if I press it harder, the light disappears. I tried a friend's transmitter and it worked, but after trying more, none of mine work. What could be the problem

i have a 2004 c240 mine suddenly stopped working and even after changing the fuse it turned on and off quick and it stopped working again what could be the problem
i had a similar issue, a small pit of aluminum foil from a wrapper causes a short circ inside, check if the lighter is fully clean, and try dusting it with compressed air
The vehicle I was working on only had 1 cigarette lighter, but if there is another one it should have a separate fuse. Unless it is aftermarket, it might be tied into the same fuse as the OEM, depending on who installed it.
I have a 2004 c230 and my ciggerett lighter and my stereo doesn't work. They worked when I first got the car then I got a piece of metal stuck in the ciggerett lighter and when I went too get it it started sparking and now my stereo or ciggerett light don't work? Would it be the same fuse
It should be different fuses unless you have an aftermarket stereo and they used a different fuse for it. Does the stereo get power? The amplifier for the stereo might be out if it gets power but doesn't work. I would go through and check your fuses first before I replace anything.
I have a 2006 Mercedes Benz C230 though I’m guessing it’s just that exact same fuse? As the cigarette lighter has a little light at night which is on but when I plug in a charger no power to it. So I would suppose it’s just the fuse ?
@@victrapstarr2865 That should work and you could also wipe it out with a cotton swab with alcohol. Just make sure the key isn't in the ignition so it won't have power going to it.
I have a 2004 W203 estate/wagon. It has a cigarette lighter in the back/trunk area but neither it nor the one up front works in mine. I've checked every fuse in the car but no luck. Seems odd if both shat the bed at the same time without a fuse blowing? Any guesses?
The cigarette lighter might need to be cleaned or it could have a bad connection. Test with a test light if you're getting power then it might be a bad ground.
@@E46BMWsandForeigns heh apparently it was simple, the back of the lighter had broken off and wasn't connected. I have to buy a new cigarette cubby just to see if it works, and it's not even a connector - I have to de-pin the old one and re-connect it on the new one. Hmmm.
