I do work and tutorials specifically on my BMW's and Mercedes, but I plan to branch out and start working on other European cars. I also really like American vehicles, so I would like to add some to the channel.
Can I just put my old center support bearing in the same exact place from the rust markings and tighten it down or should I loosen it and let it go where it wants and then tighten it
i have a 2004 c240 mine suddenly stopped working and even after changing the fuse it turned on and off quick and it stopped working again what could be the problem
i had a similar issue, a small pit of aluminum foil from a wrapper causes a short circ inside, check if the lighter is fully clean, and try dusting it with compressed air
Hey, my sons compressor just went, can you tell me the exact size of that bypass belt you used? I need to get him back on the road until we can get a compressor. Thanks in advance.
I have a 2004, w203 and I tried to put the transmitter on but it doesn't work, the light around the cigarette burns, but if I press it harder, the light disappears. I tried a friend's transmitter and it worked, but after trying more, none of mine work. What could be the problem
You haven’t ever read the proper procedure on how to do this have you? As a Benz tech these videos make me cringe… You missed removing the stand pipe prior to removing the pan, didn’t check the valve body first for the old one ring Had the filter sitting in the dirt Didn’t cover the most crucial step, the filling and adjusting the fluid level
Great video. I have a 2005 slk350, VIN WDBWK56F35F044140. Do you know if the fuel pump and filter are in the same location? Do you know the part numbers for each?
@@E46BMWsandForeigns thanks for the reply. It's a tiny 2 door hardtop convertible, I don't think there's room under either seat. I'm thinking its in the tank with the sending unit
My 2001 C240 Elegance automatic struggles constantly losing power and just randomly goes dead whilst driving. It also struggles to pull between 0-60km/h, but anything over 60km/h it drives like an absolute dream. Do I replace the fuel filter or the fuel pump. Or do I replace both. I'm a first time buyer so if my questions sounds stupid, please don't insult me.. I'm literally clueless when it comes to these things 😅
I have a mb c220 2002 w203, Hello, congratulations and thanks for the video! I have a mercedes c220 from 2002 w203, when I have to park the steering becomes very hard on the right and I hear a whistling sound, I would avoid changing the entire pump, and I would like to know if there are anything i can try before resorting to replacing it... Thanks in advance
You could try some power steering stop leak, but I wouldn't recommend it since you are only prolonging the problem, and there's a possibility it may not work.
I saw this tip on another alternator install. If buying a re-manufactured alternator and your OEM alternator has noisy bearing problem only, transfer OEM voltage regulator to re-man alternator. Re-man uses cheap voltage regulator which will fail early.
Compressor went bad. Super loud. I replaced and all was well for driving at normal height. Raise and lower worked fine too. Then 5 days after install, right back to all four sides all the way lowered again. I didn't change the relay. Now compressor turns on and tries then goes to Malfunction quickly.
Thanks for this video! Just a couple of days ago I got stranded because my AC Compressor shredded my belt, luckily the belt didn't destroy anything else, might have to watch this 100 times before I start replacing it.
Some places recommend to replace the condenser as well. Is this true? The kit with the condenser is only like $40 more so I might buy it anyway. Im wondering if the pulleys and stuff for the belt need to be replaced too or just the belt will be fine. Thank you for this. I have an 05 c320 4matic and my clutch blew up for the 2nd time now so I'm guessing a new ac compressor will be better.
It is worth it to get a new condenser otherwise you have to flush the system like I did and hope it removed all the contaminates. The pulleys should be fine it would be best to get a new since the compressor exploding probably damaged it.
That would be considered a transmission flush which is around 12 to 14 quarts in total. I did not want to do that because there is a risk of getting air in a line and it could damage the transmission.
As to moving that pump mounting bracket from the old pump over to the new pump, how accessible are the bolts that hold the bracket on? Can they be reached through the pulley holes or pulley has to come off?
Hey man great video clear, concise, and to the point! Do you by chance have a list for all the fuses or a link? I bought my 2002 C320 used and it wasn't well taken care of. Books gone and if there were schematics under the lids they're not there now. I would really appreciate it! Thanks man!
Tank goes on the bottom asshole, I di it like you said and my car wouldn't start! I had to get out and change it around cuz I listened to you, NEVER AGAIN!
Just picked up an 05 C240 4matic. Got the rotors and pads for @100, and gonna change them. Do the rear calipers just push in, or do they screw in like on Japanese cars? Despite the hater with the negative comment down below, I found it informative and to the point. If one doesn't know how to compress a brake caliper, then they'll most likely pay someone else to do the job in the first place. Just sayin..
@Cake AJPW Not bad these cars should last 300k to 400k if maintained properly. I got rid of my stock wheels and picked up some staggered wheels off a early 2000s clk for a couple hundred. Wheels really change the look of these cars
@@E46BMWsandForeigns I've found sets of aftermarket wheels for just over $500. But for now, will be happy with the one stock rim, then I'll have a full size spare.
@@E46BMWsandForeigns, I would think it'll last longer than that. I have an 04 Tacoma crew cab with a 2.7l 4cyl, and just took it on the road from Naples to Valdosta and Tallahassee, and it's got 286,000mi on it. Runs like a top. The build quality on a Mercedes should be better than a Toyota. This is why I sold my 2001 Santa Fe, with 75k orig miles, 2.7 6cyl to my brother and sister in law for my nephew's first car. 👍
Bro I’m stuck … do you have to take the fan off to remove the alternator out of the car ?? I’ve tried to slide it under the cooling hoses but still hard to take the alternator out.
I did not. Try pulling it up and over the coolant hose but I did not have to remove my electric fan. when you pull it up you need to rotate it at an angle. I'm sure it would be much easier if you remove the fan.
Ok, removing the top wasn't an issue, but after switching it over and installing, I can't seem to get any more adjustments so that the top will line up with the support pillars of the windshield. The roof latches are hanging about 1/2" forward of the slots in the windshield support. There are two nuts that can be loosened at the back where it "should" allow some adjustment but I can't move it back any more. Is there a resource I can find how to properly reinstall the soft top?
Hiya, I recently bought a new roof for mine and was told by the seller that you must never move the things on the rear the bolts go into. Any minor movement of these can cause the top to not work correctly
