How to rescue homemade Jam that has Candied

Homemade Mulberry and Fig jam has candied on us. It has set too hard to even get a knife in.
This is a way of restoring it back to a spreadable form at room temperature. You can always put it in the microwave but this can result in you napalming yourself with crazy hot jam... and no one wants that. It will just set rock hard on you when it cools down.
You just need a bit of citrus juice, some hot water and a way to heat up your jam.

This is almost life saving! I made 3 jars tomato jam and it came out rock hard! I suppose white vinegar (since its part of the recipe) and boiled water will do the trick. Thanks so much!
