so i just tried this at target. the lady took it to the back room to talk to the manager and 3 people took turns looking at it. then one dude (maybe the manager) came back and asked me a bunch of questions about when and where i bought it. then he opened it up in front of me and saw the disc was the same as the cover and no scratched and he let me return it for a full refund. IT WORKED. almost gave me an anxiety attack tho. seriously. but thank you.
@@hugono3938 You can't be aressted for this as they can not prove this was your intention or that you knew. All they can do is decline it, they may put you on a list of people to watch depending on the place.
Just so you guys know, this *lifehack* is not meant for GameStop since they only sell games and the cashier is most likely going to notice; it is mostly geared towards Walmart workers, as they all hate their jobs and Walmart doesn’t specialize in Video Games
They (we) dont hate our jobs. We hate management who could care less about us so we return the favor...plus policies depending on management changes lol
Another way to do this fairly well is to wrap the game horizontally. Instead of top to bottom go left to right. You’ll wanna start on the middle of the back of the case and wrap around so that you overlap it by about 1 inch. Then cut the top and bottom like he did in the video and heat it. Make sure you heat up the back. It doesn’t look like it deals up but it does, and it doesn’t look too bad eaither. My copy of cyberpunk that I preordered came wrapped similarly
I almost! ALMOST took the 2 discs, and the map out the Red Dead Redemption 2 case before re wrappin' it and takin' it back to walmart. I got offers on "Letgo" and offer up for $50. My moral compass told me not to fuck up my karma though 😂😂😂😂
lol yes you would get in “trouble” but not arrested since they can’t prove you were even aware it was done let alone that you did it, since they weren’t sitting there with you. But you could be told no on the return and placed on a list to watch if you enter the store or you could be denied video game returns in the future. But so what? Have someone else return them (of course tell them the consequences). 😉
A I would say the best thing to do would be to start over and be very careful when laying out plastic wrap, making sure not to have any noticeable creases or lines. Also, have the 2 ends of the plastic wrap meet on the edge of the game’s case so that the lines are not as noticeable as they would be on the front.
Cant I just take my ps4 game to walmart and tell them it's not working and get the same exact game . Then take it to another walmart and get money back or would they not give me a receipt in this situation?? Cuz Walmart does do return for the same title just not another game which is dumb.
Better off using the cellophane bags that you can seal at one end with an impulse sealer and then heat shrink. Even then, to be fair, doesn't look like a factory applied seal when you have a genuine one alongside. You'll notice factory seals have a sort of sealed flap.I think you'd be luckty to find a store that would not notice, maybe a department store that doesn't specialise in these kind of products might be best
I seal stuff to resell and I have actual heatshrink bags + an impulse sealer. It looks bad/weird, and you have to monitor how much "shrinking" the plastic is doing because it can warp the artwork on the cover. The sealed flap is pretty obvious too. Maybe return this at a big department store, waiting for an middle aged lady staff member to serve you.
Someone answer this plsss, will they spot the tape that u have on the things when you open, well how u open it, it has the tape u take off to open, will they care?
All the people that pay big bucks for sealed retro games are never going to open them. I wonder how many of them have a sealed rare game but inside is just some random sports game.
I went they said we cant take it they opend it and had a disc said I'm sorry and I said thts what I had the whole time and they said they cant refund😭😭😭😭😭
LOL This reminded me of the old High School job working at Circuit City many moons ago, they actually had a training class for a few of us on how to reseal used games I was like uhhh...were selling these as new?! They just said ....anymore questions? Not sure if retail would risk doing that today but man Circuit City days were wild, but they had a legit heat gun and some machine that would help you line up the edges.
Donavin Hamilton possibly, unless you go too close to the stove. If you do go too close, the game case may start melting and warping. I would recommend a hairdryer, heat gun, or space heater.
I actually ended up buying a game from a game company online and was classed brand new and sealed turned out it was actually just like what u did here and was resealed so I opened it up put a blank disc in it and resealed it myself the same way and told them i ordered it by mistake. Serves them right for trying to play us at our own game lol.
Dude I went to Walmart the other day and bought modern warfare for 50 bucks went home to download it into my ps4 and when I opened it it was someone’s mixed tape and Walmart wouldn’t return it because I opened it! I didn’t look this video up at that time but I opened up another game I had just bought carefully took out of the cellophane and put the modern warfare case with the mix cd into the cellophane and took it back to a different Walmart to get my money back! Please don’t fuck people over like this! Be the bigger person! This is very helpful though!
dude...the food wrapper material is not the same as the pvc..the pvc one is harder....the food wrapper is softer...would a store know the difference? of course.
idk why u r getting hate because I'm thinking of doing this for the gold edition of ghost recon I just bought, they say it must be unopened and unused DLC for a return within 2 weeks but if i sit around all day playing the game i should have all the game and dlc done within at least 2 days...so what i will do is exactly as u did in this video and he wont even know if the dlc is used or not
Why would you write this 5 months after he wrote this. He probably got caught and forgot. It just seems that you just saw this and wrote a whole brick and the whole first part of your comment is blindly insulting him and all mentally troubled people. We are all people that you know can be idiots at times, and we are not slaves from the perfect little world you are trying to live in.
achdushice you do realize like 75 % of Americans have some type of plug in heater like this right...? Lol A heater is a necessity a blow dryer isn’t...
real Gamers would know the minute they touch it because the factory seal uses hard plastic. Also I'm so glad Xbox has that little sticker on the side which means its real sealed. however you got me thinking about buying games on ebay thanks for that I gotta be careful.
Steve Currie Saran Wrap is just Plastic Wrap that was originally made by a company called DOW. Even though I just use plastic wrap, many people call it Saran Wrap because that’s what I am used to calling it. It’s like calling a Bandage a “Bandaid” or calling hook and loop fastener “Velcro”
I love buying these resealed games sold as new on ebay and mercari. I take a picture of the shitty seal job, fingerprints and scratches on the disc, and the muffed up manual, and then I file a Not as Described claim and I always get my money back. I love that it costs the scammer the price of shipping both ways. And a lot of times I get to keep the game, which I can then sell accurately as a used game.
Unless you’re as good at doing this with actual heat shrink, making sure to wipe everything down, and are careful with the manual like some of us are😉you would never know & never get you’re money back if you came across one of my original PlayStation games😂💀😂
@@bodhi7449 Sounds like you're speaking from experience. Hope your swelling goes down. Remember, if you're still crapping blood after two weeks, see a doctor. You wouldn't want to have to deal with a second menstrual cycle now, would you, Alex?
