Hey, I'm from India and was really looking for advice on this topic. I don't have a particular University I want to go to, but I think I want to do Automotive Engineering (huge F1 fan, hope to work in that field one day). I'm in 9th grade and have above-average scores (will try to improve that ) , but the only extracurriculars I'm good at is Debates, MUNs, and stuff like that . (not sure how that's gonna help). So, I didn't know my interest until I was a junior. So, I kinda joined different clubs each year, never repeated. In hopes, I could find something that interests me. I did guitar, volunteer, chess, health research, and different clubs with no common theme? Is it going to hurt me, because I know what I want to do in college and even joined a hospital that specializes in it? I volunteer on the same floor as it. (Cardiology)

I dont think it will hurt you depending on what schools you choose to apply to. You could possibly write about your journey to finding your passion in your application essay.

Dont take the language class if you're not interested in it. It's a waste of time when you could be taking a class you enjoy. Colleges will like to see your passion come through in the classes you take in high school.

im 13 and i want to major in computer science, i find it soooooo interesting. But im in the IB program so i dont have much free time. So im teaching myself HTMl and HTML5. Any tips?

I am 13 and even I want to major in computer science. Although I am more robotics inclined. We can connect if you want. I am also working as an AI engineer with a company called TerrorrBot Tech where we are making ML based Computer vision cameras using Darknet and YOLO. I am the founder of a charity organization and am a black belt in Taekwondo. My 1st choice of college is CMU as they have a robotics program and 2nd choice is MIT for obvious reasons. I am fluent in 12 programming languages excluding web languages and MATLAB.

Btw I also plan to take IB diploma in junior and senior year. On top of that I will take atleast 4 AP exams to get the AP scholar award and to show colleges that I can completely manage the work load. Plus I think MIT and CMU are the perfect fits for me as research and innovation are 2 of my most loved things on Earth.

You can try very basic programming first and im sure there are ton of free courses on youtube I want you to checkout CS50 on edx.org It taught by Professor David j malan from Harvard university definitely check it out if you want to explore the programming experience before attend to the CS program at the university

Hey, I'm Pranav from India, The video was amazing. Thank you for posting a content like this. As I mentioned, I am from India. Highschools here do not have such kind of clubs and other stuff that I can include in my extracurriculars. Is there a chance that I can get into Stanford and Other top universities without clubs and other extracurriculars provided from schools?? Outside of School, I know how to program and that is my passion. That's what I do in my free time. I make apps, games and websites. How can I write this as my extracurriculars???

If your school doesnt have ECs colleges can't use that against you. That probably won't be a big problem bc you do programming on the side.
