Let's reset your AirPods or AirPods Pro if you want to make sure they can't be tracked by the previous owner. Thanks for watching. Do you have any question? Leave them in the comments below or shoot me an email.
I had a good friend give me her old iPhone when she upgraded and never did this (didn't know she had to or who to do this) which was a huge headache for the both us lol. Got it figured out...not all people are dumb when they sell off old/unused electronics..some simple don't realize when they upgrade and all of their info is transferred that it's still connected to them...headp&ones are so easy to connect thru bt that some may not realize all this mess.
fellers i found airpods just chillin on a street and so i walked away at first for like 20 mins walked back and they were still there so mine now and this helped i didn’t feel like being tracked
I got a pair and did this but when I track them they say that some features are not available and another thing that they are still connected to another Apple ID I tried every tutorial on resetting them and I’ll still get that message on “find my”
Does this actually stop them being tracked because I don't feel very safe right now because long story shortsomeone took my airpods and I took them back and I want to be safe.
I have a pair that someone gave me. I did the factory reset thing but now when I open the case to connect it to my phone, instead of saying “connect” as it should be, it shows “ Find my EarPods “ Is this connected to the original owner or what?
question, if someone factory resets airpods and the person has find my, will the person get a notification saying they can no longer be tracked? and will the person get a notification that they’ve been reset?
I do not get an amber or red light while trying to push the button to reset. I just get a white light for a little while and then the white light starts the blink twice as fast and then stops. Is there something else I can do?
For some reason this isn’t working for me. It goes back to the connect screen but then it jumps right back to say my name/AirPods. It’s not letting me back to the original screen to reconnect everything.
I purchased AirPods on buy sell trade and the original owners Apple ID is linked I factory reset, but whenever I try to toggle the Find My tab it says the original owners Apple ID is still linked. Am I just SOL?
@@rj7914i think they reported as lost but idk how to contact them since i dont own a iphone i only see the owner name and Find my as the name of the airpods tried factory reset but it doesnt work
@@andrew.zhold the only button on the charging case 15 sec till orange light blinks then keep holding another 15 sec till it blinks orange 3 times now it’s factory
@@Slurmuffins even if you do that, i noticed that there are still limitations to what you can do. i am unable to track the airpods, or connect them to my apple account.
That’s incorrect simp, Wrong. So very wrong. Simply do a full restore. Hold the crown and transparency button down for almost 30 seconds. It will restore to factory settings.
So is this what the person who stole my airpods did? They stopped tracking recently. However before that, I tracked him for many days. I pinged my airpods incessantly to make it unpleasant for him to use. He was an @uber driver. I told @uber that their driver stole my pods and they gave me a corporate line about filing a police report. I guess that could work in a small town of 100 but not in a city like NYC. Noone is going to waste police resources on that. Essentially, @uber's response was useless response. I wanted them to at least confront their driver. I was able to track his pickups for many days and I logged the GPS information. They should be concerned about their reputation for allowing thieves to work for them.
So did the uber driver take them from you or you left them in the car, and how would the uber driver know they belong to you and how was he able to return them to you if he didn't know who they belong to? I'm asking because I'm an Uber driver and I have found things in my car days later while cleaning my car and I had no idea who it belongs to because I have had hundreds of riders in a single weekend
They must have fallen out of my bag into the car. I used find my iPhone tracking and found one ear bud. It kept pointing to inside the vehicle but I was so confused by the other ear bud tracking at a totally different location I didn’t know what to make of it. The driver got out of the car and even moved the vehicle for me while I tried to look for it on the asphalt (in darkness of night). It was only later that I realized it was the same driver who had been my driver. I didn’t realize ever wearing one ear bud at a time was a thing, which is why I was confused by the two ear buds being at different locations. I activated the lost my earbud feature which, if paired with an iPhone, broadcast a message that says lost with my phone number. I continued to press sound on the ear buds for weeks. After my initial encounter with the vehicle and him moving it, at him refusing to admit he had them with Uber management, it seemed clear, he had no intention on returning them. I could have submit a log of all the locations that I had tracked the device to Uber, but since it was my friends Uber account, it was impossible for me to submit it.
@@RobinSentellHe probably didn’t have it or find it. Another customer probably too it during the ride. Other passengers will take stuff you leave behind in the back seat.
I found some AirPod Pros and did this step. Everything happened as in the video…. But when I go to the “Find My” app it shows that it’s mine but it also says “AirPods Mismatch” when you click learn more it says that the owner can still track them …. ???
To all the people here because they found some AirPods, please consider returning them to the previous owner. I’ve either lost or had 2 of mine stolen and unreturned and it’s pretty sad.
