Here is the official home-made method of resetting oil change reminder and inspection warning messages from Volkswagen Passat B7 (2013 model) with Multifunction color screen.
MY MAN you are the BEST explanation on youtube. Fast and to the point. How anyone gave you a thumbs down is crazy, probably other jealous VW owners that made crummy videos.
Pls I want to ask what does it mean as it is showing up on my Volkswagen Passat 2014. Inspection in 20days. Does it means my car due for service in 20days or I can just reset myself I don’t av to take it to mechanic just just reset it myself. Thanks..
kola adebayo, I think it’s up to you. I don’t know what is the set inspection period at age 6, but I assume the the set time period (maybe 1-2 years as default) was expired earlier than the set km running period (normally 20-30.000km). If there was no inspection in the last 2 years I strongly recommend to visit a service, do not reset the warning manually. You must know when your car was last checked or the oil was changed, and count down the prescribed periods/km-s based on that. Overrunning may cause serious problems.
cax24 vw passat b7 variant 2013 comfortline...oil change interval is 30k but i got inspection message which has 15k interval...but what do i have to do
That's normal. After a manual reset (as in my video), you will receive a 15K period warning as default for safety reasons. So all you need to do is a new reset, and wait for the next 15K period. That is the time to go to service (in case you are using the prescribed long life oil). As I said, for VW Passat, it's 30, 60, 90, 120, 150K kms... :D Hope it helps...
No, it doesn't. Only if comes with any other warnings (like yellow check engine lamp, or any laps meaning a problem). Just do the reset for both oil change and inspection in the same time. If you wish, in any service, they can set it to come up in every 30K ... up to you
