How to reset Preferences in After Effects

I can't thank you enough man, my preferences weren't opening and I was contemplating wiping windows as I have been having other problems, and when other videos told me to press Ctrl+Alt+Shift, I thought it meant that when you get the popup with the copyright info and image is when you would press the set of keys. Thanks!

I got a question my after effects when I render it like it doesn’t show the whole project it would turn black in the 5 secs and it kept doing that for 2 days now n idk what to do I’m kinda new to it too

This doesn't seem to be working on windows. I followed everything correctly, held down the buttons for a good 3 minutes, no box appeared.

Mine is stuck on "initializing MediaCore". I looked it up and it said this would help and possibly fix it but the little window doesn't pop up. When clicking on the app in my taskbar it just wants to open as administrator and that does nothing and I am still unable to locate the "delete preferences" tab. When clicking on the app on the desktop it just opens the properties. This has happened to me 2 times before and the only solution was to delete the program, lose all my presets & plugins (which I know I could just save in another folder until I had redownloaded the program. But I did not think of that at the time) In simpler words, I need a solution so I don't have to reinstall the program every 2 months. So please... please can you help me find the "delete after effects preferences" tab

I tried it, I was holding down command, option and shift at the same time, then opened after effects and it just opened the regular after effects file. Nothing popped up to delete the preferences file. Can somebody help?

Hello! Im assuming youre so good at ae, and so Ive got a question, my motion blur won’t work, I’ve never changed advanced settings, the edit isn’t 3D, and all of my motion blur buttons are enabled, yet it wont work? I’ll try this and hope it works

Thank you soo much💯 I went through so many videos inorder to find this solution but I couldn't find it, in other videos they ask us to do same thing but they aren't asking us to held the keys till the box pops up they ask us just to press ctrl+alt+ shift and just press enter that's it. but you gave instructions properly and clearly.
