This video will show you how to factory reset and restore your iPhone XR.
Forgot your passcode? iPhone is disabled? This will fix it!
In all but a few minutes you'll be back to using your iPhone again :)

thank you...trick is to make sure that the software is fully downloaded , hence make sure your wifi is stable and strong because the software is 4.46GB...took us a while but it finally worked..thanks

to everyone who keeps saying they got put back on disabled while it was still downloading or when it was done. all you have to do is make sure the download is completly done and unplug the phone. then turn it off again and repeat steps

You can try taking out the sim card and going to your phones settings while connected to itunes and reseting them manually (Not factory reseting the iphone)

When it goes back to lock screen do the restore steps over again and when the connect to iTunes pops up press restore then restore and update then it should resume from your previous software update

When it gets to the lock screen restart the recovery mode steps and then click on what is needed to restore and restore and update the phone then it should resume from your previous software update

My phone was timing out while still downloading from itunes, so I downloaded the ipsw file from online and then installed it on the phone from my hard drive--and now the phone's working! Yes you should, having a different one would make apple think that you found an iphone that isnt yours (they will assume you stole it or its icloud locked)

Randy saba Don't dis connect the pH to the cable. Turn off the phone again by holding volume down and power button. Repeat the steps from 1.5 from the video It's perfectly works for me.
