Thanks a lot for this vdo. I have a tomtom go 50 which was suddenly acting weird and tomtom couldn’t fix it. They opened tkt after tkts but they do not know how to refresh the operating system! This vdo was very helpful
Thank you !!! worked , saved me buying a new one. But the maps are not supported on this now and many other models from TomTom. Will never buy a TomTom again.
Waiting valid gps signal..Classic problem of Tomtom start 25..After reset process I waited 20-30 minute for getting gps signal..İt doesnt work immediately after reset..Must waiting..Btw good video
This video saved me. Tried updating my W. Europe map but that piece of $*** MyDrive Connect would always crash when downloading it, and thus it corrupted the previous version of the map. For a moment I thought my nav got bricked. Never before have I encountered a piece of software that is so utterly broken and incompetently put together.
so do you have to have your account open before starting this process? did you start from tomtom/get started with your account open? too much to be assumed here.
Well after much frustration with the camper 1005 I got this done several times to no avail . Was saying “no connection” on the lead even after buying a new lead. So tried opening my drive when you right click it option to run on another windows apart from 10 and surprise it connected. However still unstable after all new map put on etc. Came on and right side after few seconds their is like a vertical bar there that appears with it trying to do something and in doing so making it very unstable! So getting back to the settings I turned OFF the option of sharing information. You have to set it to no info sharing each time it’s switched on. It seems to be ok for now but I don’t trust Tom Tom as a reliable brand anymore just wanting you to trade in for a pathetic discount on a new one when this was only 3 years old and £300. Very poor response to all out there with problems. Hope my tips help someone anyway
It looks as it will be Tom Tom out the door as I have now lost two thirds of the Maps on my unit due to a power disruption whilst the Tom Tom was updating all the maps installed on it. Live in Australia and the Australian map is gone as is the UK map leaving me with the map for South East Asia and that's a place I would never want to drive in. Have rung customer support, tried what they recommended without success. I don't think anybody understands that the Maps are gone. I do admit that I am not computer savy and that might be part of the problem, but when you pay good money for something and this sort of thing does happen, I would expect better service from such a large company

Tomtom Start 25 takes very long to obtain a gps signal . Must be prepared in advance ....drive for 15 mins to have a signal & use it. Only usable for long trips. With updates & everything it seems not to be so reactive especially at roundabouts where we are forced to go another round to find the right exit. If you miss a turn recalculation is not quick either.
@@sathir-5990 Sorry to hear that. I had a corrupt map due to me stopping a new map update. I performed a reset and deleted the corrupt map, reinstalled the new map in full, restarted and then installed that QuickGPS fix as it wasn't finding any. Then it all worked for me
Around the same time as this was posted the device was classified as obsolete by TomTom. I'm not sure if you can still download the last available maps and software or not. It would be worth checking that out before wiping the device.

Tried to do the map update on the 25. Unit froze now and will not get past the welcome screen. This update wrecked my Tom Tom. Ticket with Tom Tom not resolved. Suggest NOT to update your device.

my Start 25 has no maps found on the screen. I have tried all the suggestions given to me by TomTom . My laptop tells me and shows me maps being transferred to my device. The device tells me all maps loaded and up to date. Turn it off then on again and all I can get is no maps found. any suggestions anyone

Try when you open my drive right click and option to run as windows 7, 8 etc. See if that works. Think it’s a windows 10 connection problem. I had that with the 1005 camper
Boz Oq Türkməni My Tom Tom go 50 works fine with it but relatives go 1005 camper kept getting a message not connected even with a different lead. Using the option of windows 8 it worked and eventually running ok now but he’s not going to risk trying to update the maps
My Tomtom start 25 is the worst piece of sh*t I have ever bought. I will never buy any Tomtom product ever again. Instable software and no customer service, I seriously wouldn´t recommend it to anyone.
