This. This is what worked for me. A 2 minute video....so simple yet so important. Went through all the technical stuff, BIOS and all that yet it was this simple. Thank you!
it seems stupid....but.....theres a noticeable difference between unseated, not seated properly, and properly seated, and if the problem was so minisculely noticeable whether a gap exists between the contacts and the card, and it looked completely seated under a close examination or a microscope lol....but it wasn't? ....then...i claim creator error...not user error....why in the f***k should it be so hard to get a card into a slot and have it fu***ng read it correctly? .... stupid yes.
Omg you're a lifesaver!! After trying so many things I got so anxious thinking I'd bought the wrong spec but dayum never thought something so simple would be the issue! Thank you so much!
I'm so happy this actually worked on my laptop. Thank you! The key is to slightly wiggle the RAM stick up and down (at a 30° or 40° angle) until you feel the RAM slide into a 40° angle space inside the slot because an unused slot has a tight space and simply pushing the RAM in won't work. I've searched, read and tried so many advices that I've come across Google and nothing worked. I almost gave up. Thank you for sharing this -- the simplest solution I found and yet it's the one that fixed the problem. God bless you.
THANK YOU, MAN! Wooah, for a second I thought my case was "special" and nothing could be done... How freakin' wrong I was! Upgraded my HP Omen 15 2018 from 8 Gb to 16 Gb and it was all down to a bad collocation. It has to be 45 degrees and fit deeply. What a glorious day!
After giving my all hope and try and failed to put 2nd ram on 2nd slot.. it didn't recognised.. I pray lot to God 🙏. Then I find this video 😌😌 This video save my self confidence to put ram without expert... And I succeeded.. Now I can explain my point of view. The real problem when a laptop manufacturing and give one Ram , extra ram slot doesn't work for long time. That's why slot become kinda hard.. You need to do the trick what in this video explaining.. Just remember take a look on previous ram in attachment mode and push your new ram on 2nd slot until attach pin doesn't come upto ram's small side hole... Cheers.. successfully work on 2020 from india 🥰
I confirm!!! it works, even if sounds childish. Make sure you remove the battery and RAM is fully driven to slot. I saw that my RAM was very slightly not fully in, like, 1 mm.
I bought a refurbished HP computer for my wife that had 4 GB of RAM in Slot 2 and an empty Slot 1. I bought a second stick of 4 GB and installed it in the empty Slot 1. The computer did not see the additional RAM. I then removed the new RAM from Slot 1, moved to old RAM from Slot 2 and put it in Slot 1, and put the new RAM in Slot 2. Once again the computer recognized only 4 GB of RAM, the new stick in Slot 2. So I thought maybe Slot 1 was bad. Then I found this video. I worked the old RAM in and out of Slot 1 several times (about 5 times) and did the complete insert and remove several times. Then I booted up the computer. All 8 GB of RAM is now recognized. What a simple and unexpected fix. Just for information, I used CPU-Z to check the slots and RAM. Both it and the system were reporting only 4 GB, however, the CPU-Z identified the slot in which RAM was recognized. At the end, CPU-Z recognized all 8 GB of RAM. Just another diagnostic tool.
Awesome sir! This technique helped me upgrade just now. Had tried upgrading my laptop two years ago and I failed. Didn't know this technique back then. Thank you so much!
Brilliant. Simple and effective fix for something I thought was worse than it was. Just work the memory sticks into the slots a few times and it seats them nicely!!!
Thank you for insisting to reseat the RAM if it doesn't recognize. I upgraded my Lenovo Thinkpad L430 from 4GB to 2 x 8GB and many sites emphatically state the this machine only recognizes 8GB max while others say it will easily see 16GB. My machine had the 4GB under the keyboard and none in the bottom. I figured I would try to see if I could get it to see 16 and bought a 2 x 8GB kit on Amazon. . After installation of both, system saw only 8GB. To test, I removed the bottom stick to see if it still saw the 8GB in the top and on start up it beeped and black screened. I lifted the keyboard out and reseated the stick several times (click in-click out-click in like you suggested) put it all back to gather and WHAM! 16 GB.... THANKS!
I can't believe this, I have been trying to fix this problem for 6 months and I nearly try everything I can do and ofc none of them worked and solving was just easy like this! Thank you so much!!
This worked for me. It is imperative that the RAM is inserted at an angle (30°―45°) If it is not, that means the RAM needs to be eased into the slot. Try pushing only a teensy bit harder at an angle and the chip has to ease in at an angle. Not horizontally parallel to the laptop.
works like a charm... after cleaning my laptop one of my ram slot stopped working, was using just 1 slot, after watching this video gave it a try and it started working...its just dust stuck to the pins use a soft brush or follow the video. Thanks.
This video saved my laptop from being destroyed by me after 2h of trying putting new ram stick in it. I just wanted to send it back to producer and then found this video. It appeared magic 'click' was missing and everything works! This should be #1 video in 'how to add ram' cattegory on yt. Thank you!
Surprisingly, it worked for my old HP G7-1355DX. I got a pair of 4GB Pacific Sun memory from Frys and the RAM didn't show up until I used this method. Thanks a bunch!
Thanks a ton for this fix.I kept trying various methods and found no solutions for hours together…Finally I did exactly how you instructed by just trying to seat the ram in n out and it worked….
I can't believe how ridiculous yet how effective this is!!!!! Another success story of this method I thought the second slot of my Dell Inspiron n4110 wasn't working..... I tried this method and it worked wonders A word of suggestion and an extra step is that if you have a small blower that you use for removing dust from camera lens and a soft brush (I used my Carl Zeiss lens cleaner kit brush and blower). I used the blower for about a minute trying to remove dust and stuff then brushed the second ram slot softly.....then I tried this method....and when I restarted the system IT WORKED. Thanks again for this🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🙏🏻
Guys this really works! I tried it on my Lenovo laptop which I had bought last year and it's ram stick stopped working I thought I was the ram stick and tried it on my brothers laptop it worked fine there so I was like the mother board might have been short circuited or something and hadnt done anything to try and fix it for 4 months but I saw this and tried it AND IT WORKED!!!!! I AM SO THANKFUL FOR THIS VIDEO. btw the ram for my laptop was ddr4 so it works with that too
God bless you!! It worked, I never thought it will work. Im affraid I have wrong series of ram. Its ddr4 same with my other ram. Tried so many bios setting, and I found your video. At first im a bit skeptical, but when I tried it, and it worked!!!! Thank you soooo much
You are a legend! I bought 2 new sticks of ram and I couldn't start my computer, after watching this video I realised how I made a rookie mistake because I didn't push the ram hard enough. Thank you so much sir.
Bro u saved my life, such a big problem, but what a solution. I was worried that I ordered the wrong specs and that it was not compatible, was about to return it but then saw video and gave it a try. To my surprise it somehow turned on and it was getting recognised. Thanks!
First I thought this is bullshit. But I was very frustrated with ram slot not working and it was very late in the night, so I gave it a try anyway. It worked like magic. Sir you are a saviour.
Thank you so much. First thought: the slot is a bad one. Tried installing the existing ram into it. Didn't work. Dejected, I was about to return the new RAM. Then I stumbled upon your video...Lo! and Behold! Went through at first go... Upgraded my 9 years old HP G6 laptop with 8GB RAM...what a relief!
Did you take out the battery ? How many times did you try this... Before turning on the pc how did you know u wer done/ what was your indicator that ok I did enough?
@@skoradabura5966 Of course you need to take out the battery for my model i.e HP G6 laptop. There was no indicator. First few tries didn't get the RAM fixed in place. It was so loose that it would come out easy. Switching on didn't show the new RAM. Later using the technique in the video it fit snuggly. Now RAM shows 8GB.
PSA: if this doesn’t work for you, try pushing down on the ram slot and booting to see if it works. The above video didn’t work for me but I found out by pushing on the the black strip that the pins were loose. It would boot when pushed and crash when I released pressure. Laptop: Lenovo L14 Gen 2 AMD
My goodness!! It works on my laptop!! I thought the second slot on my laptop was faulty and I was about to contact Service Center. Thank you so much!!!
A simple "click" but it still needs to be done right. Funny how but lack of experience and being extra precautious when inserting a card into a non-used slot lead to 3 wasted hours and the need to be reminded that simple things come first. Thank you Drev222 for the good advice.
my laptop suddenly stopped working and was giving me a black screen and 4 beeps after some research i fixed it by removing one of my RAM and tried like each ram on each slot to test the issue and came in the conclusion one RAM slot stopped working i was on the verge of buying a bigger size single RAM but then saw this video, figured why not give it a shot...i did it 4 times before turning it on and it actually worked..thanks you actually saved me $$ TLDR it works
Thank you soooooooomuch! I have IMac 1.83 Ghz and I thought I would upgrade from 512mg to 2gb ram. I did notice it was not reading slot 1 of 2. I thought I would have to replace the logic board but I did as you say and also cleaned the ram with lens cloth and pushed in until I thought it would break. Finally it worked! I only paid $40 for the IMac but it is still useful for word processing and movies and RU-vid but cannot download latest search engines of course.
I have a old Dell Latitude 640 that worked for a while then it would hang and only work if I removed ram from the one slot. Have you seen this before. Thanks for the video.
Your trick worked like magic!!!! Few days back I upgraded my ram and since then I thought the stick was causing the trouble! Today i decided to take it to servicing but before that thought to check one more time. Then I saw your video and it solved the issue, saved a lot of money!!! Many many thank mate 🙂
It Really works Thank you so much, man. After adding 4GB RAM stick I tried to power on my laptop but it didn't work, then google it and found your video and gave it a try and wow it worked for me in 2nd attempt. Thanks again and keep it up.
Damn it really works thank you so much, I went to a shop asking for repair they suggested me to buy a new motherboard or new laptop thank you again bro
i thought i broke it too lol when i inserted my ram i was like "oh shit did i broke the pin or the slot, the click sounds hard and loud" imma try this and hopefully it'll work
