Welcome! I'm Lori, and I founded Teach Through Love because I'm passionate about helping adults resolve daily conflicts and nurture children's development by using conscious communication.
Parents, teachers, and caregivers are the most influential people in a child's life. My Conscious Parenting Courses and Communication Cards have helped thousands of parents and professionals break free of reactive patterns and unconscious beliefs about "discipline" that keep them stuck in negative cycles with kids.
I want to help adults increase cooperation and connection by communicating in ways that help kids feel heard and capable of change. We can help them reach their full potential, learn to solve conflicts, and collaborate with others when we shift how we respond to their needs and feelings.

Valuable ❤ We must accept all their emotions as transient important and normal. We must try to stay calm and not take in their emotions. For HSP parents that is not simple.

Beautiful. I sure do try! I raised 3 kids that were relatively easy, but #4 is ripping me a entire new parenting experience! 😂

Once I have a bit more funds I'd like to try one of your courses. My experience with my son is definitely similar to what you describe, but I really don't know what to do sometimes because I myself have sensory sensitivities so when he screams a lot or hits me a lot (most of the times not on purpose, he seems to just be a pinball) I can't always deal with it calmly, so my husband takes over and is the calming presence, but sometimes I worry that this tag-teaming is maybe wrong or not giving him the right model. Is there any of your courses that you would particularly recommend for a challenging, very bright 5 year old who is possibly on the spectrum, quite unlike any of his peers and with whom most techniques to try and keep him focused when it matters really don't work? And I think sleep is a big issue for his behaviour, but even when we're as consistent as can be he does still seem to not have restful nights, he's always tired.

I feel like both of the 'too nice' and the 'too forceful' are results of the same thing, a lack of understanding what CONNECTION is and an emphasis on getting results. Anything that isn't direct honest communication is manipulation...
