Hi Darren, like me now knee pads are a must at my age. Thanks for this as I am about to re coat a flat roof on my sun lounge. It’s original tuff stuff so I will key it with 90 clean off with alcohol then re coat. Cheers 👍🏆
That topcoat has peeled because the original topcoat wasn’t applied on the same day as the fibreglass went down. And probably wasn’t keyed and acetoned before topcoating. That’s what I think anyway. I’ve been fibreglass roofing for 20 years now and I’ve seen it a million times.
Great video not rushed, showing and explaining everything for us DIY guy's. Makes it so much easier to have a go.Thankyou fella im doing my mams soon. Great job you done as well. Just subscribed 👍👍
Nice job. I had fiberglass fitted in a kitchen extension 5 years ago and it seems to get very dirty and when i checked and cleaned it some areas have slight peeling on the top layer. I have pyramid type sky lights and a bit of a complex roof. Not sure if i should get a pro in to do it or have a go myself. I've heard using the acetone is very very important.
Great video, learned a lot. When the resin goes hard in the bucket can you just peel it out, how would you clean the rigid metal roller that you couldn’t find? Thanks 🙏
I'd wear a mask to breath in the minimal amount to dust, and just put the dusting on fast record, then talk about what you did afterwards. Thinking about your health. Stay safe.
Great video thank you regarding the mixing and temperature, do you do enough then mix some more i assuming it depends on the outside temperature it that makes sense. Also who would you go to for supplies?
Hello brother i have a large roof and the top coat has cracked in big patches all over what product to you use for top coat and should i sand the whole roof and acitone before painting many thatnks love your vids
When you cut out the fibreglass for the repair, we’re both repairs because of water underneath or just because the original fibreglass hadn’t stuck to the board ?
I used to work as a flat Roofer 35 years ago when it was a loose layer of fibre glass felt onto the plywood followed by two layers of felt stuck with hot bitumen and chipping on top or even silver reflective paint.
I find this fascinating. I live in the states where you rarely see fiberglass roofs. Worse yet, the supplies to do this are not sold locally here.... How many years do these roofs normally last? I would think a very long time if put down properly.
